exceed speed limit in speed zone by 31-40kmh (120 in an 80 zone) - 6 points $350
overtaking vehicle to the left of that vehicle (overtaking vehicles in left lane or shoulder) - 2 points $105
overtake when not safe to do so (lane splitting) - 2 points $105
fail to signal intention to change lane - 2 points $45
so thats 12 points and $605
i only have 4 points so i guess i lost it my licence 3 times over
dont worry i will be back on the roads in 3 months
what have i learned for next time DONT STOP and get a busa to out run the prick

You may find that doing that many points in one hit you may lose it for 6 months.
BTW I'm NOT happy that you lost your licence (as you put it), but obviously you were breaking the road rules & got caught doing it. So basically do the crime, do the time.
Just think of how many times you've disobeyed the road rules & never been caught against the times you've been caught & I reckon you would be lucky.

tough break, it seems a bit to harsh, shouldn't of undertaken but other than that, i think everything is in there that i do on my daily commute :D fly over to nz quickly, go to the aa convert your licence to a nz one (say to them you are living over there) fly back. give up your aussie licence, and then ride around on the nz licence, they can't take a nz licence off you and its valid for 1 year as an international licence

DL has acted like an idiot since the day he registered here & hopefully this time without the use of his licence will get him to grow up a little.

Meh sorry man, you don't have my sympathies. I'm actually glad you were caught for your behavior. You made a conscious decision to break the law and you got busted, no less by a motorcycle cop (whom I respect and wave to every time I pass one :laugh:).

I got ONE ticket for $500. Total cost for that ONE ticket (without insurance) was $900. No I didn't crash.

Once I got a $551 ticket for negligent driving, failure to stop at a stoplight, and 70mph in a 35. The thing is that the cop was so pissed that he exagerated everything and said I was doing things that it wasn't possible for me to do.

I know I'm going to get roasted for this, but it's not as horrible as it sounds. Converting from kmh to mph, that's 75mph in a 50mph zone, which doesn't sound that bad. Lanesplitting, passing on the left (Aussies drive on the left side of the road, don't they?), and not signalling. I would be lying if I said I didn't indulge in the sort of squidliness on occassion. (I swear, it's impossible not to do on this section of highway 9 by me.) But if you ride like that, you gotta know you are running the risk.

I've delt with cool cops and I really apreciate what they do. Obviously we need them and can't do without them. That being said, I've also dealt with some really unresonable cops that are on a power trip and are just itching to screw someone. That's the kind of cop I hate.
My last comment about cops was said with a little sarcasam, but when I got that ticket, he could have given me a lesser charge and it would have stuck. Instead he exagerated everything to try and screw me, that's why I mostly got off, he said I did things that it wasn't possible for me to do. I guess it worked out for me that he was an @$$hole in the end though.
On a side note, what's the deal with motorcycle cops? Whenever I'm riding and I see one I wave, cause they're on a bike, but never once have they waved back. And no safety gear (other than an openface helmet) either, seems like they should know better than anybody that's not a good idea. Half the time they ride in pairs too, it seems like it would make more sense to have them covering twice the area by riding seperately, or just to throw both of them in a car. Whatever :dunno_white:

None of those offenses are really a big deal. Just chill out, relax, and realize that the system is designed to fill the coffers of the state. Writing citations by no means enhances safety. I would be a filthy liar to say that I haven't done all of those and worse.

As a cop I have to say that you are pretty lucky you only got tickets. In Canada with all of those combined minor offences you probably would have been arrested for Dangerous Driving. That carries a 1 year federal driving prohibition and your insurance would double over night.
Having said that, when I am running radar I tend to have a soft spot for bikes when things are reasonable. I haven't nailed a biker yet. I usually just thank them for actually stopping and NOT taking off. That goes for the guy on the 'Busa I stopped a month ago too :thumb:
Cop issues aside, I have to agree, bikers are getting a bad enough rap from idiots smoking past people illegally all the time. I'm not saying I don't speed ;) But I certainly don't spend my time endangering my life and the lives of those around me and giving the "not so nice" cops a reason to hate us all!
To be honest with technology how it is now and especially the volume of traffic cops you have in the USA a busa is going to do you no good. They will video you, get your plate - find your house and track you down. Thats if you get away and from what ive seen american traffic cops persue dangerous drivers/riders much more than any cop over here would so id just pull over and hands up.
I am not saying im an angel when it comes to keeping to the speed limits but there are certain rules. Dont endganger the lives of others - if you want to run the risk of killing yourself and no one else is going to get hurt then thats your choice but when other people are involved its not worth it.
In reality... those ARE all pretty weak as far as tickets go. if you're going to whining about your tickets(that you were the DIRECT cause of) at least have them be of some significance-(sp?). Until you've pulled a misdemeanor-(again, sp?) I don't find the need to share. if the purpose of that was to prove you're a bad ass... you get an F. I might be more inclined to think dumb ass instead. You will more than likeley to plead down to much less severe charges with your DA anyway. Now I have a little more respect for "illegal speed contest" and "wreckless driving" (though getting them is a STILL dumb...), as they are a little heavier in penalties. And jesus... if you're going to speed, make it interesting... add a "failure to comply with police" and kick it up to 118 in a 55 MPH zone and dump onto a dirt road. Then at least you'll have a story to tell...

i have driven without dl, but only if sorely needed, i.e. going to store to get prescription filled, but the rest of the time, i did not. and only drove after all other modes of transport were checked on ;)

work is 25km away so its abit far to walk and you cant ride push bikes on the freeway there is no bus that can get me to work by 6:30am there is no train either

25km = 15mi. You can ride a bicycle to work, just avoid the freeways. Take a different route if you have to.

you should have thought about that before you started riding like a tw**....Thats whole point of bans, make you suffer so you dont do it again. For what you have done, and considering your age you would have got up to an 18month ban here in the UK a fine of up to about 1 months wages and probably ordered to retake the bike test before getting your license back. Then your insurance premium would have doubled. By taking your license off you they have done you a favour, you wont be able to kill yourself or more importantly........someone else in the interim. BTW, a word of advice, cops are not as stupid as you think, the cops in your area WILL know you have no license and WILL be looking out for you either on another bike or in a car. If you take to the road again and get caught chances are you will be spending 23 hours a day for 3 months in a 10` x10` cell with a 6`3" nonce who likes to play mummies and daddies every night with your 17yr old virgin a**. Now wont that be fun?

You wouldn't have to pay insurance anymore, you'd be dead. Ride a bicycle, I ride that far, and I'm dropping about 500 feet down to the water's edge and have to climb back up that to get home after standing all day. You DO NOT deserve or need a car.
You should also move out on your own, get a place closer to work/new job closer to home, and stop using your parents cars in such a blatantly stupid manner.
