Title: Woo hoo!
Post by: 97gs500e on October 05, 2006, 06:00:06 PM
I'm getting a new(to me) bike tomorrow!  Unfortunately my plans for the Daytona 675 fell through, with difficulties in financing and such.  But I've gotten over that.

I'm getting up early tomorrow and driving three hours west to Wichita, KS to pick up my new bike.  I'll post pics, asap.

Jake D, you ride with any other big twins?

heh heh...

bah...RC's are over priced, uncomfortable, and they cost too much.  Give me a TL any day.

(RC > SV, though...)

Financing of 3umph fell through, but getting a Duc? Not bloody likely.

why not?  the 675 is new...and 916's don't cost anywhere near the same amount.

OK, I am not really up to date with my numbers here. In my mind: "3umph, Duc == way out ouf your league moneywise."

916's run anywhere between $4900 and $7100 for average pricing.

996's run from about $7000 to around $13,000 for an immaculate SPS or Senna.

998's run from about $7500 to around $16,500 for special editions like the Matrix knock-off.

The Triumph 675 was about $10,750 out the door, last time I checked.  For $10k I'd rather go pick up a K5/6 1000...you'll come up spending less money and have a superior bike...to even the Ducs.

If I had the cash, though, I'd buy me up a biposto 916S...in red.

different reasons for financing to not work. could be finance co. terms, could be his credit, could be unwillingness of Triumph financing to deal. Ducati might be more inclined to make a better financing package to make a sale. one never knows.

I picked up my '05 SV1000S this morning just outside of Wichita.  It was a three hour drive each way.  I'm totally in love with this bike.  The front end doesn't want to stay on the ground!  I bought it with 1,800 miles for $6500.   Near mint condition, just a few small scuffs here and there.  (Notice my temporary tag about to fly off in the last pic)

oh yeah..

This thing makes some serious torque!  I love it!  8)

SV's better than some other varieties...you should try on a TL, though.  SV's feel too refined for me.

Dude, 3 hours on the Kansas Turnpike and your back would be hurtin' too!

Hey, sweet bike.  I really like the black.  That is a hot bike.

I am assuming you've been to SVriders.com.

We can ride whenever.  The season is getting cut pretty short.

This Saturday I am going to souther Missouri for the Oktoberfest in Hermann.  But I'll be around on Sunday if you find yourself in the City.

Congrats!!
