I took my ICON MAINFRAME helmet and inserted a standard RadioShack headset (taken apart of course) behind the cheekpad inserts.
THIS IS F*CKING AWESOME!
SQUID!!!!!
(OK... I have a "multi" head-set too... I can talk on the phone and listen to MP3s while I ride and wait for the radar detector to beep. :flipoff:)
Where do you tuck the wire into?
I haven't gone for a ride yet, so I'm not sure if that's gonna affect anything.
My helmet has a wicked 80's rat tail.
Trust me... It does affect the way you ride.
Your best bet is to ride without any added distractions... But, if you want to listen to music, I highly suggestion "practicing" with music on before running right out into the world.
Hopefully, you're one of those that will ignore the distraction and pay attention to the ride...
If not, you're screwed.
isn't it illegal to wear headphones while your driving? Car or motorcycle?
They aren't "headphones" if they are installed in your helmet.
And besides...
The helmet covers the pieces. People can't see 'em.
I went for an hour ride today with the music on...
I wasn't paying attention to the music MOST of the time... Why the hell would I wanna do this?!?!?!?
'Cause it's a CUSTOM MOD!!!
It is illegal in most states.. In PA you can have it but only in one ear. :thumb:

That's to physically have something in your ear. My interpretation is that you can get away with speakers as long as they are not in the ear.

That's how it is in CA too. I have a crappy mp3 cd player I got from wal-mart for 15 bucks for my tunes. I need a set of earbuds that will stick in my ear a bit better; they keep coming out when I try to put my helmet on
