Title: My Bikes Value?
Post by: serbianstunna on October 08, 2006, 08:16:29 PM
I'm thinking of selling my gs500e next spring and am wondering what I could get for it....I've looked it up on appraisal sites(kbb, and others) but is that what I can really expect to get?  Heres the info:
-1997
-Gs550E
-16k(probably by then)
-upper and lower fairings
-new rear tire
if it matters(airbox filter w/ rejet)

Thanks for any feedback

cant remember the value's off top of my head but the better indicator (better than kbb and others) is to look locally at what they sell for. Also check cycletrader.com to get an idea of their value. worse case, go to ebay, search gs500's and click on Comleted Transactions to see how much they really sold for.

If you consider eBay to be a gauge of used GS sales, look at my page on the stats I've run for over a year.  The link is in my signature below.

Pablo is right, your local market is the biggest factor, next is the condition of the bike, and finally comes the willingness of the seller (you in this case) to take the best offer.

Don't sell too low. There are cheap a$$e$ out there (like Srinath  --Just teasing --  I love you man... :) ) who look to just gyp people.

With the cooler weather coming, lots of people are looking to unload so the market will be full of sellers. That is never a good time for premium prices.
