Title: Rear shock
Post by: Its Just Me on October 11, 2006, 12:00:45 AM
Is there a specific year for the shock one would have to use if modding an 06 GS500F?

And what would be better, a SV650 or Katana shock?  I've read posts from alot of people who like the Katana shock, but I've been finding alot more SV shocks and in better/newer condition.

I know I'm going to have to cut and redrill the holes on the SV's and that shouldn't be a problem.

Hopefully this isn't too much of a repeat thread, thanks for the help.

Why does nobody weigh the GSXR shock as an option anymore?

because generly the gsxr has a resivoir on the top of the shock, if you still have your airbox in place then it won't fit :D

Also, it raises the tail of the bike up considerably changing the rake/trail. It also requires side stand lengthening.

no GSXR shocks are easy....but most people buy the wrong one
88-95 750 is the one you want that slaps right in

but they are really hard to find not worn out....
