Carfax (http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news04/2006/10/carfax_facts.html) stories.
People that are all pissed that the carfax info (they paid $20 for) is wrong should think about something...
What did people do before carfax? They just took a chance... It's not Carfax, it's the seller LYING to them.
As for the people trying to sell a car with wrong info from carfax... That SUCKS! Carfax should adjust people reports, just like with a credit check.
I used carfax when i was shopping for my current car. I think its good for general things but most stuff you have to use yur own common sense like using a magnet to look for bondo and seeing if the steering wheel has been worn down a ton but the mileage is low. Common sense, its not as common as the name would lead you to believe.

Hey Ash... How's this magnet thing work? I suppose you don't actually ATTACH the magnet to areas of the car, right? Do you just "hover the magnet close enough for it to get pulled in, then you move the magnet around? Is that how that's done?
Put a cloth over magent then slide it around. Not to usefull now adays with composite side panels.
I use one of those cheap magnets that come in advertising flyers, the flexy kind. I just put it on the body panel and slide it down, its pretty obvious when there is bondo because it will fall right off.
