OK. I may be alone on this one, but sometimes, I just feel the need to drive like a complete moron.....sometimes, I just need SPEED...and lots of it. Most of the time, I drive extremely conservatively......but every once in a while...POW! I drive the little GS right to her limits. Speeding, swerving, tailgating, and the occasional rear wheel lock up. If lane splitting was legal here, I'd do that too.
I've heard that most motorcyclists are speed freaks....I guess I fit that bill....at least I pick my spots.
Anyways, I was just wondering if anybody else experiences this "problem"? :nana:
see this?

Me too, but I do my best not to ride like a schveen.
I kicked a cab driver's door once after he cut me off on 95 going into Philly (by that I mean he had two inces in front of my tire, and waved like he thought it was funny. No turn signal. Nothing.) He just happened to be going the same way that I was into south Philly and stopped at a light.
He looked scared after I did it.
Don't ride mad though. Make sure you're standing still to do the really sketchy shiat. Cars are big and slow and you have to get out of their way if they try to make things difficult for you.

Problem? I don't have a problem. I can quit anytime. I just choose not too right now.
:?
The first step is acceptance Pablo. Then we can work on dealing with the issue.
-Anti
Yeah..sometimes I ride the GS like a Super Motard...just kinda goin' nuts a little...or maybe that's a Super RETARD.... :?
It's a Mr. Hyde thing.

Speeding- well, it's your licence and your cash. :nono: Swerving- that's what we upgrade our tires and suspension for. :thumb: Tailgating- where do we send the flowers. :o Rear wheel lock-up- shifted down one too many gears, ay? :P "If lane splitting was legal..."- why let that stop you, after all speeding and tailgating aren't legal either. :?
Seriously, yes I think we all do at some stage and if we're lucky we live to brag about it.

Funny isn't it. Lane splitting is no more illegal than speeding, etc. I know a lot of guys that will speed constantly but will not cross a double yellow line no matter what! Double yellow means no passing by 4 wheel vehicles, right?
Lane splitting and passing on the double yellows are my worst motorcycle vices. Love 'em!
Lane splitting doesn't seem to be explicitly illegal in Alberta, but the rednecks around here take great offense at someone getting ahead of them.
Join the club! Being my first bike, I normally drive like a granny but sometimes on a back road in the country, my sack drops and I start to ride faster and more aggressive than my normal thinking allows. Trying to take curves and corners faster, crossing lines, tailgating, and riding like a drooling crazed maniac IS fun, isn't it? Enjoy and be careful when "Mr. Hyde comes out, though. Thanks for letting me know I'm not the only one with temporary insanity out there!
J-Lo,
The same thing happened to me on my way to work the other day.
I was stuck b/t a bunch of slow drivers on the only curvy road going to work. Result??
Brain shuts off--pee pee takes over. It all happend so fast.
I grabbed a wrist full of throttle and cut in front of the comatose
driver to my left--only to realize I was hot and late into a sweeper turn meaning I had to lean the bike over more than usual. I accelerated slowly through the turn so when I came out I had to brake hard and downshift fast to make the left turn lane. No emergency braking req'd but I was nice & tight with the car in front of me in the turn lane.
My heart was pounding and my brain took over again.
Never-ever will I do that again!! :bs:
To be completely honest though--I do the same thing in my car on occasion. I have a 5 speed manual and for some reason it just makes you want to abuse the car every now and again.
Wow... J-Lo lives! What happened to you, buddy? Some of us were getting worried.
Emmett Lyman
J-Lo is indeed ALIVE and WELL. Some near financial ruin caused me some temporary heartache, but it's all good now.
I'm touched to know you were worried about me....I know I was worried. :bs:
