okay, here goes... my twin 55w halogens keep blowing 1. is there a fuse for the headlight(where?) 2. would this be caused by a faulty voltage reg? (if so, why is nothing else blowing[brake light, blinkers, etc.]) i have the two 55w wired into the high beam lead in the harness (110w right?)...What do I do? I need answers ASAp as these H3 bulbs are a PITA to change...Thanks in advance!!!

:? question, 1 are these lights bulbs that insert into a housing?, if do, when you replace, DO NOT TOUCH THE LENS. oils from your hand can and usually do cause them to fail. another thing you should look at, is if those lights are like that, check the seal, between the bulb and the housing. nother question, how often do they go out?, if not every day, wire in fuse w/appropriate rating into that circuit, see if that helps.,
also check your wiring thoroughly for shorts, bare wires, etc. as far as the vol.reg. goes, i have seen cases where it was bad, but the only thing that seemed to be affected by it was the headlight, was on hd, but same principle. i doubt it was but hope this was some help :cheers: good luck to you.
A bad contact, either in the supply to the bulb, or a bad earth/return connection can result in the current to the bulb going on and off. See if it noticeably flickers as you ride or rev the bike at idle. This results in the filament heating and cooling rapidly, which stresses it. Also an intermittent connect will cause voltage surges, which again will shorten the life of the bulb. Normally, the bulbs last for years with no trouble.
