Hey, if that motocorsa ducati and lotus dealer off of canyon sells them, they can't be that bad of quality!
No, that was a play on the Geico commercial. "So easy, even a caveman could do it." Aw shoots, forget it.

Hell yes I do. It's sitting in my driveway getting poured on. Why, what's up?
By the way, take it to PM if you want your thread to stay intact.

thats a nice stand but you can do that (lifting bike without balancing it) with any stand.

Really? Everybody tells me that you do.
with bike on side stand hook the left side of the stand on the spool. push it down enough to just lift the bike up and slowly let it settle on the right side spool. then push it down farther to get the bike up. Its not hard to do, but neither is just balancing the bike.
here's the normal way to do it by balancing the bike-easy:

how many times did he almost drop it
The cyclecat is a great stand handsdown, but it cost about $70 bucks more than a regular rear stand.
I got the pittbull rear stand and some rear spools / sliders. The bolt hole on your gsxr is 8mm you can get them from lockheart phillips for about $20 to $25. Or if you want something better get the wholeset from here http://www.motovationusa.com/
Getting a bike on the rear stand is nerve wracking the first couple of times but after awhile it's very easy.
I would go with either the pitbull or the cyclecat. I have heard some real bad things about some of the other cycle stands available.

I bought some shogun spools, now I just need to get some sliders, front and rear stands.
shogun's are nice, but from what I read I thought I'd go with the motovationusa's. Are you going with no-cut or cut frame sliders?

I'm not sure...probably the no-cut, I hear a lot of people saying that they have gone down with the no-cuts and they hold up great. But they are quite a bit more money. The shoguns seem to be more money than the motovationusa brand. I almost bought the motovation spools but I was already on the checkout for the shoguns, and they were a little cheaper anyway. The only thing I'm not sure about is that motovation says they have a metal insert in theirs, I'm not sure if shogun does or not (for the spools that is). It's weird that shogun spools are cheaper than motovation's, but it's opposite with the frame sliders. I can't decide if I want to go with those race railz ($150 free shipping) or the motovation sliders ($110 plus shipping I think).
I wonder if these are easier to use....

I think that's the pitbull stand I have at the house, I'll check when I get home tonight, just got it about a month ago. Love the thing really easy to use, I just support the bike with my left hand and push down on the stand with my right hand.
Yeah the reason I wanted to go with the no-cuts is because of the frame bolt on the left side getting stripped out from removing the plastics all the time. Figure with the no cuts just install it once and boom your done, don't have to remove the frame slider everytime you have to remove the leftside plastics.

Actually, the right side still goes thru the fairing. So I guess you would still have to remove one of them. I think.
when you have a bike on the stand, like my gsxr, the wheel isn't in the center of the stand, would it be better to center the wheel in the stand? or have the stand hooks be centered?
You need to center your stand hooks. Oh if you look at the right side the slider you don't have to cut the fairing it actually comes out where the ummmm V shape is.
They are both different it looks like. These are the pictures from the no-cut kit.

There is a bolt on the ride side fairing seen here

Remove the bolt and the frame slider goes there

Right, that's what I'm saying. That slider has to come off to take the fairing off. But that bolt probably has to come off anyway.
I have the regular aluminum suzuki stand for my bike (zx6r) and it works great. No need to go and spend tons on a stand you will use every once in anwhile, and even if some are easier than others my regular stand that has no special features works fine and is way easy to use. Just hook the spools and tip bike of side stand and then push down on stand to lift bike, easy enough for one person.
Also is that side bolt holding the fairing on? If it isnt then just cut a hole big enough for the slider to go through and then you dont need to remove it evertime you take the fairing off. But I would imagine it does hold the fairing on as it is showing on top of the fairing.

I went and bought a pit bull stand. Just the regular one. It's not as easy as people make it sounds. I put a 2x4 under the side stand and it makes it a lot easier though. I'm not going to cut a hole in my fairing, because on day I might want to change things up. I went in on a group buy for the race railz for $115 colored free shipping. So this is where I am now. Just need a front stand...eventually....now to go with the standard type or the kind that grab the frame...
