Got a few questions. I have the model with the sportier handlebars, what are the advantages/disadvantages to these, should i replace with the straight ones? How easy is it to do this. My bike has a full system nexus exhaust on it, does this change the power or just give it a fruitier note?
So excited to have my first ride on it tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looks like a great forum btw!
Drinks all round.
The GS is a big bike? :cookoo: I guess it's al relative. Your exhaust should give you a little more power but only if it's jetted corectly. The handelbars are mostly a comfort issue. The lower bars do put a little more weight on the front end which suposedly helps handling, plus you're leaned over more for aerodynamics, but mostly it's a comfort/looks issue. Run what you got untill it hurts or you want something that looks cooler.
Welcome to the board
Welcome.
Ride it as it is for a while, get the feel of it and enjoy it before you start modifying anything, after a couple of thousand miles your priorities might change.
Ride safe, be visible and always remember bikers have most fun but are usually most vulnerable in any traffic situation.
Were I you, I'd leave the bars on. They exponentialy increase steering response in a wonderful way. You wont be able to tell the difference if you don't have many miles on the bike or a stock set to compare them to. If you really want to can them because of comfort, I have a stock bar available. Send me a PM.
