Ok, I'm getting angry. I don't use the net very often at home so I've always just had the dial AOL connection. I just purchased a Verizon DSL modem so now I've entered the correct century and have high-speed. I have a new problem however. I've having a ton of Red X's pop up randomly. It's as simple as things like the "Reply" or "Mark As Read" icons or actualy pics such as my very own avator. Does anyone know if I have some internet options or tools that I need to select or deselect so I can view the majority of gifs on any given site?????
Thanks for any help....
frusterated high-speed noobie
did you change anything other than the modem? I'd think security settings or your pc is broken.
It's possible that you have your browser set to not see third-party pictures. My browser (I use Foxfire) has a click box in Tools, Options, Web Features that allows you to see only pictures that are loaded on the original website you're looking at. Since we host our pics at different places, I found out the hard way that that wasn't a good button to have clicked.
I found the 3rd party in the tools and it checks out ok.
They also mentioned broken links but I know the links are ok.
Mak - I didn't change anything but the modem........that I know of.
Looks like I'll be on the phone with a techy from Verizon and get pissed and say mean things because he/she can't speak clear english. AHHHH :2guns:
Thanks for the help anyways.
Ummmm......it's fixed. I don't know how.
It's gremlins, I tell ya'....GREMLINS! :icon_twisted: :dunno_white: They know exactly when to take over your 'puter....and then when you're just about at the end of your rope, and you're fetching your hammer....*poof*....gremlins move on to someone else's 'puter....
