Title: Amsoil....
Post by: metallic5spd on October 23, 2006, 04:13:03 AM
What is the best oil to use on my bike??  my buddy works for a company that sells AMsoil, and he is going to order me some with his order and only pay his price.  its like half price.

my first oil change i used suzuki factory oil.  ive only heard good things on Amsoil.

and also, since i can get it cheap, is it a good idea to put in my car too..  i use Pennzoil Full Synthetic right now..

any thing is fine really, the gs isn't a high proformance engine.
i buy the cheapest crudest oil i can find and it runs like a dream.
some people say you must go with suzukis recomendations blah blah.
run it on deisle oil if you want, non of it will make much difference to the gs

amsoil is good .. i was gonna start running it but at 10 bucks a bottle i was like nooo .. thats a bit to much ... how many oil changes have you done so far ? i only ask because there have been some members ( and my self ) that have had issues with going from suz. oil to a full syn.  oil . there have been post that say that it has eatn a worn cluch out ..... i put a round of full syn. in it and did not like it .. cluch sliped a little more .. i just use maxima simi syn. and its 10w40

10W40 walmart Accel oil. SF rated ...  :thumb: ... like 15 year old oil.
It doesn't have any of the cool statements on the bottle like "friction modifying" or "gas saving" or "low emmission" or whatever. it has a warning - using it in cars made after 1988 could damage sensors ...  :thumb: ... last I checked, my bikes had no sensors ... so I use it.
Cool.
