Actually, this shock came off a 750 Katana.  Per Pablo's information, the 600 katana is a better replacment for the GS.

I will wait for a 600.

The 750 is a better shock IMHO...The 600 is long clevise and fits with out grinding on the 90+ bike with steel linkage..If you dont mind a little metal grinding I'd go with the 750.
Cool.

Thanks Srinath,

I passed this one and JasonB has layed claim to it now.

But, I didn't know that, I thought I read on Pablo's web site that the 600 was better.  Oh well, I will try the 600 and see.  I'm 5'8" 180lbs.  I have a second GS I'm begining to restore, It may go on that one later.

I installed the progressive springs, and WOW, very cool.  But, now I can really tell the rear is junk.

Thanks again for the info,
Paul

Srinath,
You mentioned the 600 fits a 90+ with steel linkage.  I have an 89.  Will this be a problem?  Is it the lower clevis that you are reffering too?

I also have a newer swing/linkage that I am planing to change out (the old swing you had said you wanted).  Will this make any difference?

Anything will fit the 89 with alloy linkage. The newer steel linkage is what needs a little shaving for the 750 katana. The swingarm...yes I'd like that but dont have to give it to me if you need it...and dont give me the alloy linkage...why...Well No real use for it...I dont mind a little grinding and the stronger steel unit is my choice anyway due to the extra strength. I thought the singarm was going to come off the parts bike??? You making a good bike out of that..then dont give me the swingarm. You need a swingarm...I'll be more careful modding mine for belt/pulley clearance.
Cool.
Srinath.
