Title: turn signals in Texas?
Post by: 94suzuki500 on October 23, 2006, 07:06:41 PM
So I got pulled over and was hassled for not having turn signals.  Are they required in Texas.  I didnt think they were because the inspection guy said dont worry about them cause there werent required.  I checked on google and it said on some sites they are and some they arent.  Couldnt really find an official one. Anyone have a link for legit information?

No they're not required in Texas.  If you don't have them you MUST use hand signals at every turna nd lane change.

Oh wait...they are NOW required in Texas on bikes newer than 1960.  This is new.

I had a 65 Yamaha that was made without turn signals, so if I were in TX(or any number of other states) I would have had to add them.... lame-O

Ya I checked that website out but than another said different.  I went to the inspection office and the guy said for inspection turn signals arent needed but for traffic laws they might be.

His book isn't up to date, then.  I was at the courthouse earlier today.  Everything was updated this year.
