I just picked up an enclosed trailer and pick-up... And I as thinking about mounting chocks in both.
Any recomendations on brands or styles?
Oh yea I loooove them, trailer ... Oh ... I've never had those, you say both ... 2 of them ... man you're one lucky dude ... Yea ... the style and brand ... I'd you know ... not having much experience in that area there ... might pick one white and one black (or chineese if you go that way ... or latina ... anything for variety) and for style ... I'd do them every style ... yea ... Sigh ....
Just dont pick any that order "Less bean" in their taco ... that'd be a bad sign ...

In an enclosed trailer I much prefer securing the bike to the walls than chocking it.
Truckbed and in the open I like chocks a lot.

I havent had any personal experience towing a bike with one but I saw one at a bike show being demonstrated. The guys rolled it into the chock and it held it really well, they push it side to side and let it "hang" and it didnt come loose. It looked like the ones at the bottom of this page. Not sure if they are the same but they look really similar.

My plan is to store both bikes in the trailer this winter. So I was thinking about picking up some of those fancy chocks that hold the bike upright without having to strap and compress the forks. For the truck I was thinking about some of the cheap open chocks.
Anybody know where I can get a good deal on something like the condor models?
What I ended up doing was trading my old '90 sportster for the truck and the trailer. I just bought a new house that doesn't have a garage... And I'm going to rent out my current house with the garage so I'm losing my storage. I figure I could squeeze a gixxer, sportster, scooter, engine hoist, and a lawn mower in the trailer. I don't think I can talk the girlfriend into keeping the bikes in the house.

I have a couple of Black+Gray chocks and they are awesome. (www.blackandgray.com (http://www.blackandgray.com)). Also I use the quick release kit, it makes removing them painless. Sucks for what they sell a simple injected molded piece of plastic, especially since I work for an injection molding company.
A friend of mine uses a Baxley wheel chock. Absolutely awesome!! They make some that can mount to a trailer or free standing (I believe they have a kit so you can use one in either condition). The one that I have experience with is free standing. It is a must have at the track. Roll into it and walk off the bike. No worries. Then you can throw a rear stand under it no problem. No fumbling around or anything. Don't go cheap though, it is not worth it in the long run. These things are killer....I must have one by spring!!

Well... Not wanting to spend a fortune on these things, I'm going to attempt to make an expensive one out of a cheap one. I picked up one of the cheap tube versions and I figure if I can find some nice channel I can weld up the part that flips. Then put it all together on flat steel base. I figure I'm going to need a few of them, two or three for the trailer and a pair for the truck.
Anyone here ever tried to make one of these things? Any advice or horror stories would be appreciated.
Does your GS have a centerstand? if you're storing on a trailer, I'd consider putting the bike on race stands. Keeps the weight off the tires, no flat spotting etc.
well.. Don't have the GS anymore. I'll be storing a gixxer, a sportster, and a little scooter in the trailer. I do have a rear racestand for the gixxer but none for the harley. The exhaust comes out right beside the swingarm so I never tried to put it on one.
