Title: R1 pegs
Post by: heatherg11 on October 27, 2006, 09:00:57 AM
Anyone know if R1 pegs would work with the gs or would there be alot of mod needed?? want some more stylish pegs, but don't have the grinding tools or anything like that.
Thanks in advance.

the r6 pegs will work if you grind them thinner, use the mounting pegs that go with the r6, and brill the holes bigger in the gs mounts (to fit the mounting pegs for the r6 pegs) so i can be done.

If you have the Denis Kirk 06 metric bike catalog take a look on page 449 in the foward controls/pegs section. I have th EMGO anodized aliminum footpes on my GS. Orignaly I bought the front suzuki pegs but  the mount was to wide, but the suzuki rear footpegs fit excelent(part # 49-0040. Silver) if you have a flat file you can make them fit even better b/c the is about 1/8 of an inch of aluminum that keeping them from sittting perfectly flat. they even fold up smothly. New they are olny $23.99, look good too. This might help or be an option to you or anybody for that matter.

With them being all metal, would that increase vibrations?
