Will that, in theory, be able to plug right into my harness on my 1991 GS500 and function properly? Just curious... and thanks much!

I think it will.

But, Bikebandit shows the part number as different, So I am not sure.

Post a pic of your connecter off the 91' GS500EM and ask someone here to post a pic of their connecter off a 04' GS500F.

But even then you still run the risk of it not being compatible.

On the bright side if you get it for $50 you can sell it back for that if you have too.

That's true. Everything appears to mount the same, and that does appear to be the same connector I currently have...
