Title: Seat lock fit an '90 E from an '04 F?
Post by: davidcl on November 04, 2006, 10:32:07 AM
Looking for a seat lock and I have found one but it is off of a 2004 Suzuki GS500F and I can't really tell if it would fit my 1990 Suzuki GS500E. Anyone know from first hand experience (you owned an E and a F) or from part knowledge if the seat locks are the same?  I am further at a disadvantage because I don't know what my seat lock looked like because I bought it without one.

Thanks.

look at the parts fiche for both bikes at like bikebandit or ronayers and if they're the same part number, they should fit..

The plastics on the 90 are shaped different than the plastics on the '04... dunno how it would work..

I found that the part number that I need does not fit the 2004 GS500F but does fit some 73 Suzuki bikes including the Suzuki GSX750F KATANA 2004 (K4). Go figure. Anyway, price comes out to be $31.40. Lets see if I can find it cheaper on the bay.

Thanks.

The locks mount differently The 89-02 mount in the bungie rail and the 01+ mount in the body work. Also, the cables are different lengths. But the seat latch is the same.

What part(s) are you needing?

I should still have a lock with a key. I know I have several without keys.
