So about a week ago someone knocked over my bike and the clutch lever broke. I got a replacement for it, and I found out the clutch switch has been disconnected by the previous owner. I think I'm going to reconnect it... But my question is, at the end of the clutch cable, on that little metal cylinder that goes into the hole of the clutch lever, there's a plastic thing that goes around that cylinder (on the end of the cable). Mine is old and broken a bit. Is it necessary? If so, where can I get a replacement?
Thanks

To get by grease it up real good, and order a replacement.
a replacement from where? It's just that plastic thing. Bikebandit doesn't sell it I don't think
I agree with Scratch -- Just grease it and put it back together as best as possible. Worst case is the plastic decays slowly.
I can't remember seeing it when I replaced my Clutch Lever. So long as it can rotate in the pocket the metal cylinder fits in, there should not be a problem.
What year is your GS500?
04F I'm gonna check a shop to see if they have one this afternoon
they didn't, bought some vinyl tubing to use instead.
