Title: For those who want a new bike...
Post by: annguyen1981 on November 05, 2006, 07:47:56 PM
I attended a seminar for my business last night...

"IF YOU HAVE TO FINANCE YOUR TOYS, IT'S NOT TIME FOR YOU TO PLAY."
-Columbo DiSalvatore

Some people finance their toys just because, but I'm talking about those who finance their toys because that's the only way they can get their toys.

If people learned this, life would be SOOO much better.  They wouldn't have to worry about PAYMENTS on their toys.

Very true.  A couple of people I know from highschool have ok jobs now that they arent going to school and they bought brand new bikes.  I dont understand how they see it ok to be paying for there toys.  And also the ok jobs they have are because they arent going to college so they can work alot.  Another dumb thing, getting alot of hours in but no education so they are stuck there until they start school, but they have the toys they are paying for so they cant stand a cut in hours and pay because they wont be able to make payments.   :nono:

I mean, some people finance stuff just because, but some people finance because it's their only option.  Cars are a different story, because they are mainly transportation only (some people still buy NICE cars, but they can't afford it without financing).

But bikes, boats, quads, and anything else that's not NEEDED...  I've only borrowed money from the bank once, and that was for my second car.  I wrecked the first one, and needed something ASAP.  I didn't want to finance, but I HAD to do it.

oh well.

Car's not really needed there is a thing called public transportation  :icon_mrgreen:.

I did finance my HD TV.  0% interest for 1.5 years.  Will be paid off well before that time runs out.

And I belong to Compulsive Shoppers Annonomus.

Good point on the public transportation.

And As for the TV, THAT is a good choice if you CAN pay it off in full.  Why have your money tied up in one spot, when you can make interest-free payments for 18 months and use the remainder of the balance to spend elsewhere?   :thumb:

I guess I've always done this, but when it's put that way, it really hits home.  I should write that down somewhere.

Off to google to figure out who Mr. DiSalvatore is....
