Hey, everybody,
Almost every time I log in, I get the message "you have been banned from using this forum. reason - russian spam"
Now that's quite interesting because, incidentally, I *am* Russian.
However, looking at my post count I can hardly be called a spammer, not to mention I haven't typed a single Russian character on this forum.
Another interesting thing is that in order to be able to post, all I have to do is to delete the cookies, and I am no longer banned...
Any input from mods regarding this would be appreciated.

We've been having a huge problem with SPAM lately, and we've had to do some blanket bans. We're working on ways to reduce SPAM without our legitimate users being affected, so bear with us.
Sorry you were caught in the sting. You might want to grab a couple/few mods' e-mail addresses in case you have trouble getting in again.

Edit: one of the blanket bans we've had to do is with some free e-mail hosts. Changing an e-mail address might help eliminate the nuisance of having to clear the cookies.
so sometimes you get banned message and others you dont?
Yep. I don't log in too often, but when I do, all of a sudden I'm banned again. And like I said, if I clear cookies then I can use the forum fine, which I thought was a little weird. But it's not that big of a hassle.
I still get the "Banned" message until I clear cookies..... unless I tell it to only sign me in for an hour... then I don't get it.
I've sorta given up on having it fixed.
