Wheel-To-Wheel is the company.
oh okay. Thanks.
It's a car... :dunno_white:
It's the ultimate sleeper car!
It's still a car...
I like sleepers too... But... It's a car. :dunno_white:
What is a "sleeper"?
It's a RACE CAR that looks like a hunk-o-crap OEM car.
Why is it called a "sleeper"?
Chilly
'cause you can't tell it's a Monster.... You know... It's sleeping...
Dude, anything with tires and rims that wide has got to be a fast car. I guess some of the idiots in their civics wouldn't know that and thus get blown away, but damn, those things are a dead giveaway. I thought the first picture was the finished car, now THAT would be a sleeper.
that was great. I love sleepers...they're the unexpected smackdown...
It's kinda pointless now to have a sleep though...think about it. You pull up to a red next to some idiot in a Civic or Integra...(even better, the dope is pulling a Uhaul trailer with a ratty looking crotch rocket on it), he's blaring some Nine Inch Nails or similarly angst-filled teenage theme music and trying to look cool with his dark shades on.
You ease up to the line all quiet like, click the Powerglide into neutral so it won't load down the converter and give away the cam overlap. He can't hear the low thrum from your big block because his subwoofers that replaced his back seat are booming away, and the blower whine is covered up by his massively out of proportion treble blaring from his 10 tweeters he has hidden around the interior for "mad clarity".
You proceed to blow his doors off to the next light, but nobody else knows about it.
If you are doing massive engine mods, I say make them known. Cops are a lot less likely to give you a fixit for your exhaust, than they are for engaging in a speed contest, speeding, unsafe driving and etcetera that you needed to do to show off how much of a sleeper you have. No thanks.
I had a 454 in a shortbed '75 Chevy pickup that had quiet exhaust and aside from nice paint, looked fairly stock (was lowered some too), and I got sick of people assuming it was a 307 or the like.
:nono:
Thought you might like that.
 to detroit iron older than pablo
can you remember that far back?
well yup, cept those cars were used at the time, but yes, just about everyone of my neighbors had something of the like, my mother had a chevelle (with a bb454), father had a jeep cherokee chief (i believe it was) either one of those cars would keep a gas station owner smiling
so then, the detroit iron is older than you too...
at least I was there....
