Hey guys, I need to replace the clutch switch on my bike. The PO disconnected the wires and cut off the quick disconnects, so I plan to solder the wires on. Is there any way I can take out the wires that go to the clutch switch so I can get a soldering iron out there? I'd guess it's in the headlight place, but I'm not sure how to get there. Can anybody give me some instructions? Thanks

Forget I asked, I found somewhere to plug in my soldering iron where my bike is :-d. Also realized that the PO didn't disable the switch until after he broke it. Hmmmm...
There seem to be two types of clutch switches:
1) Slide type (the slide button tends to break/wear)
2) Microswitch type (makes a click sound like the front brake)
Type 1 is old school. I am not sure when the Type 2 came out.
The clutch switch is bullet connected in the headlight housing on the pre-2004 models.
Usually if the switch is broken, you can pull the switch wires and connect the bullets together to jump it out (different sexes).
If you need pics, we've got them somewhere. I have some of the Type 1 pics in the photo album on my old webpage (see profile side bar).
I had the same issue with my brake-lights. I just brought in the original slide-on with me to an auto parts store. I was able to find a match pretty fast (with a water resistant cover) and used a crimping tool. It's been on pretty solid since August.
