Title: Why winterize your bike when you could...
Post by: makenzie71 on November 07, 2006, 08:58:11 PM
...just build a dyno?  Make it out of an old treadmill.  I'm doing it, more for test purposes as my TL is always being a test mule for something, but I think I'll be running it just for the sake of it more often than not.  Plus I'm thinking about turning a generator with it so while I'm testing modifications I'll be charging some batteries.  I can't see anything wrong.

Famous last words anyone?

Seriously, try not to get hurt.  Remember the fire incident?

Winterize the bike?  I just winterize my gear. :)

As far as the dyno goes...I may have to visit again to see this.

in all seriousness I am building a dyno.  I'm going to use a large, cast iron roller from a grain mill as the roller.  Weighs about 500lbs so it'll be easy to manipulate to get basic readings using a simple datalogger with a magnetis sensor.  Dunno when I'll get around to it, though.
