Title: Carby making a weird noise.
Post by: Dom on November 08, 2006, 07:09:53 PM
When I warm it up, every 15 seconds or so it makes a weird *POOF* noise, kind of like a silent fart sound.  I checked all the vacuum hoses for kinks and can't find any.  It could be related to the second washer I put on the needles to remedy the 90mph stall that I was getting, but I havn't gotten around to running it up to 90mph yet to see if that has been cured.  Any ideas would be appreciated.  Also, I recently set my  floats to 14.6mm.  Does anyone here remember the exact height?  I thought it was 13mm but whatever, I only searched the archives for a few minutes and that's the first number I found.  Thanks a bunch.

Intake valve too tight, or hanging open/sticking.

13mm sounds like a good number to me, I think I'm using that.

It wouldn't be related to the additional washer, that affects mid-range.  What's happening is down low.

13mm ... WTF ...
OK Poof ... its a feature ...
Anyway I'd suspect valve being tight as well as something else being blocked. Air jets, pilot jets ... whatever.
Cool.
