As my parts are coming together..its getting to be the time for paint once again. I am the most indecisive person in the entire world...and I can't decide on a paint scheme. There's absolutely one thing I want to keep...my blue. I loved the blue and it made my bike an eye catcher.
Now..this is everything you can play with here...frame, wheels, headlight bucket, guage buckets, swing arm..go nuts guys...I was kinda attached to my white wheels..I don't mind cleaning..at first I wanted to paint my frame white to match..now I'm kinda heading away from that...I have a new scheme up my sleeve but if I like what you guys come up with better...I'm gonna run with it..so where are my art people?
Bonus points for:
- Things that don't look vinyl
- Simplicity, don't cover up my blue too much
- My painter won't do pinstripping
- I like contrast, white on blue, silver on blue etc
- NO FLAMES

Here it is kids note it will have SM2s and different rearsets..go at it...I know we have talented people here...I'll send you presents...in the form of fedex-ed baked goods...or something :dunno_white:
What about naked women?? Are they ok??
TLR/K3~K4 GSXR 1000 forks. Katana swinger and rear wheel. Bandit 1200 guages. SS lines. Full exhaust.
That'd do it.
I think we are talking about paint and graphics here buddy boy.....
   Paint Mak PAINT!!!
The forks stay...cause Im short..and even the different springs made it too hard for me reach...stock is actually made for my skinny 100lb ass...my exhaust is fine..no more mods..just paint for now..
No neked women.....although random abstract cooters are ok  that was my previous scheme
Oh...ummm...just black it all out. That's what I'd do. Black bikes are the sexiest.
gix forks are actually shorter...
Frame and swingarm matte black perhaps? That would bring out the detail work in the paint more.
no..blue is sexiest...blacked out is for boys who don't get noticed anyway :flipoff:
are they shorter? I dont even get any sag on my stockers when I sit on it..thats why messing with the suspension made me nervous..
Noah I thought about that...I may do that....now I must say...I'm a huge fan of The Antibodies bike...
Yup...if I recall correctly almost by an entire inch.
Anyone got a GS fork sitting around they can measure? We'll get the exact number in here.
hey pastrami, how about, same color, but more coats with lotsa clear on it, perhaps some pearl or metallic in it, make the paint almost look deep enough to swim in
:thumb: Thats exactly where I'm going wtih the blue Aaron
ive seen cars done like that, my 48 plymouth i had painted like this, b4 i sold it, but i had it done in a deep navy blue. btw blue is my fav. color lol, but keep the graphic on the tank tho, it kinda sets it off
I agree--definitely keep the blue and the image you have painted now. When I look at the photo of your bike, my eyes are first grabbed by the tank. The black of the seat works well with that blue. Then the fender, then the plastics, then the chain guard--which brings my attention to that swing arm. Like mine, it's--well--ugly. The matte black of your seat would work really well at that point (other than upgrading the swing arm entirely). If you do that though, the frame might as well go black too. The sports fairing is going to do a wonderful job of hiding the GS500's instrument panel and add a more sleek look to the front of your bike--without taking away from it's naked appearance. OK, I just realized that I'm starting to sound like an interior decorator here. Time for me to go reaffirm my manhood or something.
Chilly
at one point..i wanted the frame and swing arm white to match my wheels...I nixed that when I gave up the crack..
the reason i don't wanna keep the same graphics is because everyone asked me where i got the vinyls...it made me sad...
People asking dumb questions shouldn't make you feel bad. And just about any graphic's you do add to your bike your going to get the same question.
I agree paint the frame black. Add some white to the tail section. And personally I'd go with blue wheels, over black.
Here are some really bad 2 min photochops for your viewing pleasure:
Here is your bike with a (simulated) black frame, subframe, passenger pegs, headlight brackets and bucket, with the stock white rims:
Here is the same picture with (poorly simulated) black rims (If i were to go this route I would use blue rim tape to outline and offset the rims a little):
Pastrana,
I know you said you like contrast, but the second photoshoped image w/ the black rims is gorgeous! Wow, that looks nice!

This makes it look like a Speed Triple, kind of. I love it. Just blue with no graphics would be kick ass. Maybe a silver Suzuki on the tank.
That looks like the blue on my Super Hawk. Is that Candy Tahitian Blue?
Photoshop the front suspension black or same blue.
Not the tube, just the silver reservoirs.
Better yet, do the silver part below the fender black, the part at and above the fender the same blue.
That'll do it. :thumb:
The fork tubes a gun metal, then black wheels, swing arm, frame, headlight brackets, etc. That would be awsome.
I've always been curious to try this (http://www.alsacorp.com/products/eclipse/eclipse_prodinfo.htm). Lots of cool effects one could achieve with that paint! Check out their product showcase (http://www.alsacorp.com/products/eclipse/eclipse_show.htm).
DUDE! :o
I want a hypercolor bathtub!
I will be using exclusively Alsa paints, the blue I have on my bike right now is a silver base with a cobalt blue candy..it came out amazing, photos don't do it justice...however..the eclipse..is $300+ for the paint alone, add in the special UV clear and the hardner and you get up there in price really quick. While I would love to do that..its just not feasible right now...I got a chance to see their portfolio...those guys are amazing..not to mention the guy who does their pinstriping... :o
Paint it all Ghey ... yea ...
Cool.
Srinath.
I'm sure that was a typo Sri, and you meant "Grey". :icon_rolleyes:
I vote for subtle paint on your bike, Pastrana. I second the all blue with silver "SUZUKI" lettering under the clear.
I have loved that blue ever since you repainted a few months ago. :thumb:
-T.
I like to transform a traditional theme (in my architecture as in my 'stuff') by basing a design on a traditional color or idea and instituting it in a fresh way.
I'd suggest the traditional 1989 graphic layout
like this:
using the blue you like (nice blue btw) as the base/background and then the graphics in other blues or lt blue/white such as on the original gsxr
like these colors:
to be clear: your blue would take the place of the white in the image of the '89, the other colors (either blue/blue or blue/white) would take the place of the stripes.
that way you keep it in the [suzuki] family but give it a new and personal twist.
[can someone photoshop that combo?]
for example.
I love the old honda rc30 (most beautiful bike ever imo)
and I just bought some race bodywork that I am going to paint like this:
also,
and here's the new bandit1200 with familiar [suzuki] colors too:
also, black frame would be nice too-maybe more dark grey/graphite instead of black
Ok... another rendition...
Same as above but with black forks:

Ok when you are done with the bike, please please please do something with that boring white helmet.
Pablo!! Have you seen the '07 Honda VFR800 Interceptor. OMG.
I'll get a pick. Hold on.
http://powersports.honda.com/motorcycles/sport/model.asp?ModelName=Interceptor&ModelYear=2007&ModelId=VFR8007
I must have one!!!
I think the last one looks REALLY good. I really like how that headlight bucket and tabs look black on that bike!! I also think that you should paint the helmet the same blue as the bike that would be :thumb:
 thats AJ's boring helmet she likes boring ones :flipoff:..mine is hiding on the ground behind the forks..well my old one..that saved my head..I have to order a new one
Bike looks great! :thumb:
My wife saw Piper's ol' bike in the carport, and now she want's me to paint my bike black.
OK you guys have more work to do because I'm the new owner of a airtech solo tail. So thats gotta be added on there...also..someone whos better at photoshop...Can you take the guage buckets and headlight bucket and make them the same blue as my tank?? Then fade the frame starting up by the tank and fading to white with a white swing arm? I just wanna see......
I love the deep blue and so far i like Pablo's ideas the best. All that black makes it look abit street fighterish you need some colour on there.
After my accident ive also started repainting my bike. Kawasaki Lime Green and Silver.
Inspired by the AC schnitzer bikes. (http://www.acschnitzer.com/motorrad/images/acssprintstaracstwinstar1.jpg) Il post pics when im done.
Im suprised to hear its 300$ for some paint?!?!?! I just bought the colours for my paint scheme metallic silver (large flake) Kawasaki green, clear coat, hardner and thinners and it came to under £100 ($191 USD)
Alsa is a ridiculously high quality paint...thats why its so much. The eclipse paint is a temp. change paint. It goes from either black to white or dark blue to white. If you apply candies over it, it creates some cool effects, its just very expensive. Alsa is a better quality than House of Kolor or any other paint I've experienced as of yet.
I am unsure of what I'm going to do just yet. I'm not a big fan of the black either...Its just a bit dull and you're right streetfighter. If I'm going to go all out..I'm gonna go all out...I'm not going to do something that anybody could do with patience and a rattle can..

Yeah... screw that... better at photoshop?!?! Did you not see that I did that at like 5am (after being up all day/night) and it was a 2 min job.... man... now you get nothing from me!!!
:flipoff: :flipoff:
  I meant I suck at photoshop and mine looked like shaZam!...not yours
I know... I was just trying to stir up stuff :) :icon_twisted:
I have NO idea if this is what you were thinking about... but it turned out looking horrible... try to explain a little bit more and I might be able to come up with something a little nicer 8)
