haveseen most of the usa on somebody elses budget .....racing as well as been to england have done almost all of canada as well
England, Scotland, Germany, Austria, France, Spain, Mexico, and Canada. I've travelled somewhat in my own country too (Dad was in the Air Force), but I've never been to much of the Midwest (Ohio, Kansas, etc.). I've spent the most time in Mexico as a study abroad student while in college.
I would like to go to Norway, Denmark, Thailand, and New Zealand some day.

Many states -- Haiti.
That's it. Probably going back to Haiti in December.
Uh, this being in General Discussion, I assumed you meant "traveling on the GS" so I put "neighboring states".
-Turd.
On my GS, neighboring states.
For my own personal self, most of the US, a bit of Canada, England several times and Scotland once for 3 weeks.
Other than that, I am a Texan and am always very happy to come home to my lovely state!! :thumb:
well I went from texas to alaska on a bike, traveled I think 10 different states and 2 different territories all the way to prudhoe bay in alaska.

Thats my photo, I went with my dad and it took us 16 days, went north of texas and then to alaska then down the west coast till LA and then back home right east of dallas. I was planning on making a slide show or somthing like that but never got around to it. Trip was awesome, but the busa ran through tires every 1500 to 2000 miles till we got a continental put on the back, that ran all the way from saint george to texas on the way back and then down to the florida keys, and no flat spot and it grips well too. Going up the james dalton took 13 hours and we averaged 34 mph. Slept for 4 hours in prudhoe bay and then rode 13 hours back, not stopping except for gas and food. It was raining and 6 inches of mud all over the road with semi trucks flying by at 60+ on a skinny two lane road. It was awesome though except being awake for 26 hours and 4 hours of sleep through the freezing rain. My iguana says thanks, her name is iggy, iggy-wanna, and my dads armadillo is named arny as in arny-dillo. There were alot of bmw's up there with nobbies that were thinking we were crazy to ride with street tires through the mud and rain, one guy turned around and walked off when we told him that we think its fun to ride through all that, I guess we were too uncivil to speak to. We saw them on the way back, halfway up, the next morning, half a day later. but then again we are crazy and never stopped for anything except gas the whole trip.
Sorry for the mix-up  Seriously though, what a great adventure! :thumb:

p.s. For anyone who's ever travelled overseas with your bike, how did you do it? How did you get your bike over there?
England, Scotland, Germany, France, Belgium, and Switzerland, as well as all over the US and into Mexico.
I've never been out of state with my GS... But, all my neighboring states require insurance... Which I don't have.
I've been to Mexico, Canada, Netherlands, and Greece... As well as CA, OR, WA, AZ, NV, ID, MI, IL, MT, WY, NE, MO... But, the last 4 I was a little kid on a road trip. I had to sit on "the hump" of my dad's firebird the whole way... My ass has never been the same.
Not many more states I want to visit... But, lots of other countries.
Does military count?
Hong Kong, Singapore, a couple of places I'm not supposed to tell you, Brisbane, Perth, that major port on the east coast of Austrailia, Tonga.
Lots of travel in the States, but mostly the Eastern half.
England twice, France twice, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Netherlands, Australia, NZ.
Lots of places I'd like to go to, but time and money don't always work out.
Australians are probably the friendliest people I've met, and the French are NOT rude.
Hi there,
In addition to some 30 states, I've been to Tijuana, Mexico once and all around Cuba. THAT was an interesting country. Lots of different motorcycles there, and I have photos to share if anyone is ever interested. :)
Best wishes,
Todd
Been all over the US, Cali, Alaska, Washington, Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, Colorado, New York, Pa, North and South Carolina. Those are places I have lived for more than a year. Been through almost all the states inbetween.
I also lived in Korea, Germany, while in Europe I have traveled to just about every Europan country. Except for what used to be East Germany and USSR. Did visit Berlin before the wall came down.
Been to most of the United States, Canada, Mexico, England, Spain, France, Germany, Austria, Gibraltar, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, 100m from China(at the Vietnam-Chinese border), and I'm going to Australia and New Zealand next week. Ok, I am officially in debt and I usually go into debt to travel, but not for very long. My next trip will cost me about $2,000 for a two week vacation but will be paid off in a couple months so it'll be worth it. Live it up.
Belize (honeymoon), Bahamas (about a dozen times - also engaged there), Italy, Ireland, Canada (Whistler baby), Bermuda, Mexico, and about 25 states
Not sure where the next trip will be (other than Canada this winter).
On the GS - MD/VA/WV/PA - boring

where are you going in nz?? dont stay in auckland what ever you do, its the crappiest place in the whole country, if youve got a rental car, head to the coromandal or towards taupo,
if you like surfing, then head toward taranaki or basically any where on the west coast, but the naki always has surf somewhere around the mountian (that doesnt sound like it makes sence does it :D but you'll understand if you head there)
have fun :D its just moving back into summer now, talked to the bro this morning and hes been swimming in the lake for a couple of weeks now:D
unlike stinky scotland where you can't go swimming any time of the year :D
I live in Canada, and I've only been to two provinces in Canada. I have been to pretty much all of the lower 48 states though, with exception to the far west coast (California and surrounding areas) for racing.
I have never been outside of North America. It's kind of hard to travel when you are fourteen years old, hahaha. I am hoping to go to Italy in the next few years, though.

forgot hawaii and Tahiti (honeymoon).
All over the US, Vancouver, Banff, Toronto this xmas, TJ, Turks and Caicos, England, Spain, France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Singapore, India many times.
On the bike, only locally.
33 countries (forgive my slightly loose definition, Hong Kong is arguable, Turks and Caicos is some kind of UK protectorate, round down to 30 if you want...Do we really care? No....):
US, Canada (lived there), Mexico(4-5x), UK(several times, married there - are we counting Scotland and Wales? ), France, Switzerland (lived there), Belgium, Nethlands, Latvia, Italy(4-5 times, engaged there), Germany, Spain, Yugoslavia, Turkey, Egypt, Morocco, the Vatican, Barbados, St. Lucia, Hong Kong, Japan (2x), China PRC (2x), Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, India, Nepal, Malaysia, Greece, Bahamas, Denmark, Norway, Turks & Caicos (honeymoon).
All states but OR, AR, ND, SD, IA, and NE. I've been in Kansas City but can't remember which one...
Mostly on one long trip after undergrad, some on business, otherwise no good excuse, none needed. I do like the places where they don't speak much english or shoot at each other much. I've only ridden in the US, Switz, and France. Had some great fun on a rented Honda XL (XR?) 250 outside of Geneva.
You'll find the same balance of nice people and the opposite every where you go.

You've never been to Oregon? Dude, then you haven't really traveled. Oregon is the bizzomb. Well, it's green and laid back anyway.
Re favorite places, I got to travel as a youngster; I recall Japan with the fondest memories as I had family there... good food, amazing cityscapes, very old and beautiful temples and grounds, unusual (unreleased in US) vehicles (they had techy looking compact light trucks and SUVs 10 yrs before they caught on here), advanced electronic gadgets/games, sportbike motorcycle gangs (20-30 mobbing the streets, not so laid back as here), rooftop amusement parks, intimately sized architecture/houses/rooms, immaculately dressed cops with white gloves, vending machines with grape juice that have real skinned grapes in them, awesome fruit candies and goodies, incredible mikan oranges + asian pears, super cool TV.
Israel was cool (I was a kid) but rocky and hilly with lots of cool/crazy military shaZam! rolling around on the freeways, i.e. saw a "bridge-building" tank, 3 F-16s refuelling overhead from a C-130, you hear lots of sound barrier breakage, see lots of bullet holes, and 19-year old babes walking around with M-16s. Also the soldiers showed me their teargas rifle and gave me a ration bag of orange juice, a bracelet, and some sunflower seeds.
Paris is mind-boggling with the architecture but in the wintertime it is rainy and seems everyone is haggard, like struggling to maintain sanity. Maybe it was me. Its cool but it occurred to me the place is about 100-300 yrs past its prime. Still, its pretty cool. If I grow up to be successful and find a hot babe to go with, I'd go again.
Korea, not my favorite. Ppl were rude/mean/hard, maybe it was just my attitude, it's not as far along as Japan though, or wasn't in '94. There was an amazing 300 yr old teahouse though and um... yeah. Sort of felt like a recently Communist country. Almost got my ass beat for setting down an empty can near a snack vendor's hut on the smoggy waterfront of a polluted river.
America is where it's at, yo. Ppl complain... because they don't know how clutch it is here. We may lack some culture and openness, i.e. russian/european women are way way way hotter and more sexy, but what the hell. We make up for in opportunity and freedumb.
If I won the lottery I'd go to NY and LA for like a month each, maybe Italy too and do a motorcycle tour. But since I am a server/actor, I think I will save my money.

Flying into Auckland then catching a flight up to Christchurch. Not sure how long I'll be in Auckland but I have taken your warning into serious consideration. :thumb:
Oh yeah, only ridden from Seattle to central Oregon and back, and I rode 1200 miles through North Vietnam on a 125cc Minsk(dual-sport).

cool southisland is much better, not much in christchurch, its a very flat city, head towards the southern alps its only an hour or 2 and if you get the chance drive through the arthurs pass, shame you wont have a bike, its a wicked ride, (you can hire bikes in christchurch though for around $100 nz dollars a day, cheaper over longer peroids,) if you can afford to hire a bike you'll get to experience some of the best riding anywhere, when you are in christchurch make sure you head over to akaroa the ride over is fantastic windy roads looking into a beutiful secluded harbour akaroa is by far the most beutiful town i have ever see in my life (if nothing else hire a bike for the day and take your mrs over there for a romantic day/picnic)
you wont regret it i swear (don't forget when you are riding, to stay left, we drive on the opposite side of the roads from you guys)
and if you head into the alps you might see one of these little terrorists :D the nz kea (worlds only alpine parrot)
(http://img2.travelblog.org/Photos/1449/25186/t/121603-Kea-in-flight-0.jpg)(http://www.canterburytrails.co.nz/images/kea.jpg)(http://animalliberationfront.com/News/AnimalPhotos/Animals_31-40/kea.jpg)
a small group of them will tear your car apart while your out skiing :D
have heaps of fun :D

If you are not required to have insurance in your state, you don't have to have it in other states. That's like saying that you can't drive in other states because you only have a WA driver's license.
Are you sure about that? Here's the AMA link on state laws http://home.ama-cycle.org/amaccess/laws/result.asp?state=or. If RVertigo rode in Oregon and got pulled over and was ticketed for not having insurance, I don't think the claim "I'm from Washington, we don't need insurance" would hold up very well. Wouldn't it be like Pandy riding in WA, upon being ticketed for lane splitting, saying "It's ok, I'm from California and lane splitting's legal there" ("and so's parallel bike-to-ground parking--watch!" )?
Chilly
I went to Kentucky one time. :laugh:That was to Pick up a Couch with my Cousin. :cookoo: :cookoo: After a Pack of Yellow Jackets and a 40oz Cup of Coffee I was up for 24 Hourss After that. :o I try to stay away from Kentucky. :flipoff:

Licensing, insurance requirements, etc. are different from traffic laws. I'm fairly certain that reciprocity agreements cover insurance requirements. Otherwise, you wouldn't be able to travel anywhere.
It's only a phallus if you think it is. And why would you think it was one?
Hmm, I have been outside the USofA on my GS,
Nearly every day in fact.
:flipoff:
Your poll seems to assume that the members round here live in the USA.
I've been to Scotland and Endland on my GS.
Off the GS I've been to
Scotland, England, Wales, France, Belgium, Germany (Briefly), Holland, Portugal, Spain, California, Nevada (Briefly) & Florida.
Phil?
We are in the minority Mate :dunno_white:
lol, there are a few ozzys on the site as well.
i myself have only done england and scotland on the gs,
rode all round new zealand on a bike zx6 and zx4
and only the gold coast in oz on a bike
but have been to france, hong kong, singapore, and wales :D
i did the poll just to see if americans just stay in one place as everyone seems to think
you get all these figures that 10% of the population have passports and of the only 30% have left the contry and all that,
all bollocks really, unless the gs riders are more worldly than the rest of the contry, which is a destinct possibility as i think you have to be a certain type to take up riding in the first place :D
Fun poll. Here's my input...
ON the GS: only locally (max 2-hr. ride to San Diego)
Otherwise:
All but about 10 US states
Canada, Mexico
U.K. (3 times)
France (5 times)
Australia (3 times)
New Zealand (South Island--love that previous picture of the lighthouse at Akaroa; I was there!)
Italy (2 times)
Netherlands
Germany
Czech Republic
Slovak Republic
Austria
Bahamas
Cayman Islands
French Polynesia (Tahiti)
New Caledonia
Croatia

I am embarassingly under travelled. I've seen all of Eastern Canada, east of Ontario. Haven't been west at all. My brother in law lives in Vancouver and he is trying to get me into a cross Canada bike trip. I would do it in a heartbeat but it takes time to convince my wife.
Other than that, I've been to a few of the Eastern United States and down through the Carolina's. Haven't been more South than Myrtle Beach and haven't been West at all there either.
Haven't been overseas but seeing as how 90% of my immediate family live in Scotland/England I am the black sheep of the family. Too wrapped up in work and paying bills. Soon though. I have to travel before I get too set in my ways and start to believe that North America has culture.
I used to live under the sea
punching holes in the water 150+ ft below sea level all around the north atlantic
rockin' and rollin' 24/7 even at 800 Ft in the winter.....i'd hate to be on the surface up ther in the winter
Join the NAVY see the world.....I went to CANADA for 3-4 days in 6 yrs active duty
went swimming in the Bahamas in 7000 Ft of water....saw land in the distance
