Post by: turtlehub on November 11, 2006, 01:08:59 PM
i'm looking to repair / replace the head on my 97 gs500 beater.  will any year cylinder head fit?

i was also wondering if there are any differences in valves/heads among the different years.

gs500 expert types please respond and/or debate

yep it'll fit, the engine has not changed in all these years apart from half way through 91 when they took half a mm off the head casting and same of the end of camshaft, to stop the camshaft endfloat noice when cold. other than that all are exzakery the same  :D :thumb:

check with the F owners
since the tacho is electric
i don't know if suzuki just used a plug or didn't machine the tacho drive into the head
all E's will work
newer ones will be silver
older ones black

There are changes to the cam specs, but the head is a direct swap.
