so today I went on a nice long ride on the 78 in san diego, and My engine had a wierd wine to it so I put a small amount of oil in it and kept riding. as I got about 100 feet away from the gas station where I stopped I looked down and stupid me had not tightened the oil cap all the way and it was hanging out and spilled all over the bike and my leg/shoe. I then ended up putting in almost an entire quart of oil and im going to change my oil tomorrow.
stupid me
Stupid you.
 j/k
The last time I changed my oil for the GS, I forgot to put the drain plug back in before I started filling it with new oil. I figured it out two quarts in...
eh, we all make mistakes...live and learn. Welcome!
I just ordered the repair manual from the link on this site. it should be here any day now, then I will be able to check alot of things. I have never worked with carbs before. When I had an auto class I didnt pay any attention because all of the vehicles Ive owned have been fuel injected

 Yeah I did that once to an old bike of mine. I poured two quarts through the engine before noticing too, It was a mess and it was expensive oil. I also burned myself on the exhaust while removing the drainplug. :cookoo:
Yeah, I don't drink as much while working on my bike or car anymore.
What a bunch of noobs.
speaking of noobs, a friend of mine put 2 stroke oil in his mower. not good for crank case oil. :nono: well he has a new mower now!
