Title: Engine change the hard way
Post by: Bobbleboy on November 16, 2006, 09:53:49 PM
Hello

Was changing the engine 50.000 km, to a newer engine 27.000 km, the old one had a funny noise, found a donor bike i Germany.

The new engine was easy to remove  :), the old one, 2 exhaust bolts broke  :o

And the front engine mounting bolt was stuck, used a hammer for 3 hours, heat and WD40, no luck, took a grinder, at the end.

My plan, is to restore the old engine, as a spare. if i can get the bolt out, and the 2 exhaust bolts out , and find the problem with the noise. all in all a fun day, in the carport.  :icon_rolleyes:
