Title: Strange gearbox sounds, normal or not?
Post by: domas on November 27, 2006, 11:38:11 PM
Some time ago i noticed strange sound in my gearbox. It appears when downshifting, especialy in lower gears. There is a normal downshinfting sound, and then an extra metalic click. So it "double clicks" each time for 1 gear. I dont feel any difference in performance. I did some clutchless shifting experiments a while ago, don't know if it could affect it.

So anything i could check? Anyone has had the same?

Thx

Return spring click?

Return spring click?

What does it do? Btw sounds are only when decelerating and downshifting with clutch disengaged. Sound doesn't appear if i'm not moving.

And it wasn't there berfore, only like last month. I was riding for a year now.

The return spring returns the shift arm to its 'level' or 'neutral' position, so you can always reach it to upshift or downshift.

How is your oil level?
