Title: Dead battery or GS quirk?
Post by: irisdsgn on November 30, 2006, 01:26:17 PM
So, I tried to start up the ol' bike today, which I ride to work every day and all I got was a quick clicking, which I assume is the starter. The clicking slowed and I got nothing. A 2nd attempt was successful, which got me to work. But when I tried to leave on break, i have no panel lights, no clicking, no horn...Am I missing somehting or is something draining the battery?

how far are you turning your key when off ....... because you might be positioning the key to have the park lights comming onwhen you rotat it counter clockwise to the stop

Yeah, when I bought my bike the dealer warned me about the parking light feature so I always double check it just in case.

so, let's just assume that the battery is dead. What the heck do I do?

Practice push starting it... it's very easy to do, had to do it a couple times a while back when my battery was dead.

I would get your battery checked to make sure its holding a charge
