Title: Help finding minor parts...
Post by: Raydr on December 02, 2006, 05:17:21 PM
I bought my bike used and cheap (2004 F). It had been in an accident but put back together fairly nicely.

My only problem is that there are a good handful of missing things, such as fairing clips and things like that (they improvised with butterfly nuts).

Today while changing the oil and spark plugs, I decided to go over the bike with a fine tooth comb and take and inventory of the OEM screws and things I needed to order. One item I'm not sure about is the grip...there is no cover on the outside of it and so the inside is very rusty (see picture below...)

What should I do about this?

Get a new bar.

Thats not a huge deal, you should have barends anyway to help kill some vibes.

Srinath just made a bunch of kick ass bars, in a laundry list of colors! Just dont tell an.

I'm kind of frustrated since BikeBandit doesn't seem to have the exact parts I need.

Can anyone help me with these two items that I discovered missing when I had my fairing off...?

1.) Frame bolts for Fairing Mount:

2.) Screw from dash:

Here's a pretty cheap place to get parts.  Only problem is that they have a $75 min order.  http://www.cycle-parts.com

Check out denniskirk.com
I think they have a fairing mounting kit, that may help.
Good luck!
