Well most everyone has seen the t-rex bike, but it does cost 50000 or so. But i saw this on another website, It looks like an fz1 bike welded to a home made frame, the guy said it ran 140 or something. Pretty awesome. Someone build one, it wouldnt really be that hard, just use the front suspension off of a pinto or something like that without powersteering, older honda civic maybe. It would be pretty awesome.
Id Imagine that you wouldnt have over 5000 into it when your finished. Prob less. (http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m95/Bens_haircut/t-rexbike.jpg)
They build those Formula SAE cars for pretty cheap. I had a friend that built a superfast racer that could do 140 with a R6 Motor mounted into a custom engineered frame. I think he said with materials, the cost was under $10K
See: http://students.sae.org/competitions/formulaseries/
if you are unfamiliar with Formula SAE
Awesome, I watched those cars out at miller motorsports park when I was out there this past summer. My dad has a friend that builds cars like that but they are replicas of other cars, just smaller. Building a t-rex car would be awesome because it owuld be registered like a motorcycle because it only has 3 wheels. :)
Starwalt is building a vortex. Yea its cool.
Cool.
Srinath.
Or you could make one of these....

i wouldnt do 140 in anything with the front suspension off of a pinto or a civic.
I dont see the civic or pinto front end not holding up. Havent you seen 2fast 2furious? Duhh, they go like 200 and dont have problems, no but really, I wouldnt see those front ends having any issues holding up.
Have you seen that film its rediculous. Entertaining yes but totally unrealistic and cheesy - also yes. In the first race where they race the supra, skyline spoon and rx7 if you look at the speed's when they switch between the cars they try to fool you by showing you the supra speedo which reads in kph. All the view is fuzzy out of the windscreen like theyre doing 200 which is unbelivable then you see the speedo which is readin 100 and you think ok bit unrealisitc but then you see the KPH lol! Then it switches to the skyline speedo which is readin 60mph lol. Makes me laugh.
A couple of guys in the Vortex group have made rides like this.
Registering as a motorcycle depends on your state laws. Here in South Carolina, we have a three-wheeled motor vehicle designation. It is NOT the same as a three-wheeled motorcycle designation. The diff? Type of steering and seating. Motorcycle steering and seating make it a mc. Auto (wheel) steering and seating side-by-side means motor vehicle.
This ride has fabricated suspension parts and car steering. They may have used the spindles from a stock vehicle, but the supports are all fabricated.
Nifty ride, but not one for bad weather or to take along a friend.
It is always more fun with two. :icon_lol:
