I've got some time to kill, so here is a list of tires that come in a 150 rear AND a 110 front. Some 160s may fit, but it is very dependant upon each tire (i.e. the Dunlop D208s do not work, but the Metzler Sportec M1s do). Since some 160s do not work, I am only listing the 150s. Also, I am omitting tires that have an option for a 130 & 140 rear, as that would defeat the purpose of doing a wheel swap.
This is for the Katana wheel swap, or any 4.5" rear wheel.

It doesn't defeat the purpose of doing the wheel swap. Not everyone does the wheel swap for performance. Some just like the look of the 150. I stumbled across this combo when I had a 4.5 rim, bald rear tire, and 60% on the front. It's cheap, looks good, provides a larger contact patch, and the tires are proven. This would be the exception to your 130-140 rule.

Looks is a pretty silly reason to do a wheel swap. A 150 sitting next to a normal sportbike's 180 or 190 section rear looks just as small as a 130.
Larger contact patch is negligible, especially on a bike with as little power as the GS. Also, the contact patch would not be noticeably bigger since most of the gained width is on the edge of the tire, not the middle.
And no, it is not an exception because I specifically stated that if the tire had an option for a 130 or a 140 section tire I would not post it. The BT-45 is an old-tech bias ply tire, just like the Sport Demon (which also is offered in a 150 rear, but there are better options out there).
I'm a fan of the Metzeler M1 Sportecs for most of my bikes, and I think it's a heck of a sport tire for the money. However, I hear the M3 is even better. Haven't tried a set yet though...
I had M1's on my SV. They wear out pretty darn quick.
Okay so what is the most big looking tire you can use with: KATANA wheel+washer (one for each sprocket bolt)?
Right now I have a 150/70 dunlop and it look quite big (yet I didn't have to use the washer :flipoff: but I had to bend the rear breack bar ) tell me if you have a biger looking rear wheel

next to a street triple (180 rear tire :o)

That picture is about as useless as a one legged man in an @$$-kicking contest. :kiss3:
why?
Here are more pictures next to a 130 rear wheel

looks big is subjective, I thought my 140 looked big till I parked it next to my ninja 1000. I thought my 160 looked big till I parked next to a hayabusa
I agree, however among the 160 tires some are biger some are smaller, this objectiv. The problem is I don't want to buy a 160 tire that will not fit with the katana swap even though I may use washer, nor do I wan't to buy a 160 that look quiet to same as my 150 ;)

I have a 160 60 bt21r on a sv-katana wheel, it looks wide as f*ck 1 washer behind sprocket, flipped front sprocket so shoulder is on inside, and bent brake arm
here is mine with a 160-60 bt020

It look really good indeed and much bigger than my tire :icon_mrgreen: . But why did you flipped the front sprocket? I have never heard of that, isn't this dangerous? Also, I don't understand what mean the "sv" in "sv-katana wheel"? Thanks you.

Now I'm confused, which way around is the front sprocket supposed to go? I thought the shoulder was on the inside normally.
my shoulder was on the outside when I got it. maybe I did it when changing sprockets out :dunno_black: not sure. but I made sure shoulder was in to give a little more clearance
what I meant by sv- katana wheel is that they are the same, and the one I am using is actually from a sv650
