Title: question about a 2003 gsx-r600z
Post by: natedawg120 on December 13, 2006, 12:12:50 PM
Alright, i am looking at a GSXR at a dealer here.  It has 40 miles on it and is in mint condition.  The question i have is it IS fuel injected but still has a choke lever.  What the crap is a choke lever going to do on a fuel injected bike?  Unless it is more like throttle body injected i don't get it

An '03 with 40 miles?  Sweet!

My bike was a New Old Stock with a few miles on it.  You get a great deal, dealer service, and a warranty.  How can you beat that?

well it wouldn't come with any of that stuff but i am still interested.  they are asking 5950 for it and it is my favorite body on the gsxr.  All i would have to do is sell my GS cause i am sure they would rape me on trade in but that is to be determined later.  The other thing that keeps me from doing it now is that it would have to be financed, boo.

40 miles? I don't get it. Why do people buy bikes if they aren't going to ride them? I've put 8000 miles on my '06 600RR since I bought it back in May. That reminds me. I need to buy a battery for my GS so I don't put so much strain on the RR. :dunno_white:

yeah i don't get it either.  The original owner traded it in for an atv cause it just sat in his garrage for all these years.  I would love to get it but i don't know that i am going to be able to swing it right now because of the holidays and the money i would have to put down to make the gs even.  We'll see though.  It is the alstare version as well.

I think that an '03 Alstare version would be hot.  BTW, how do you pronounce that word?  I'm always afraid to say it for fear of looking like a total dork.

Is it an Italian word, or is it just pronounced All-star?   Is it all-star-ay?

Those are first generation FI bikes, I think they were still working out the kinks and had to include it.
