Put in an eleven hour day in at work today.
Being able to take the GS to work in Manhattan two day in a row
made it all ok.
Really sweet bike for that type of riding.
Riding the GS in heavy urban traffic is a pisser.
Pisser good, right?
doesn't pisser mean mouth, like Pow, right in the pisser?
No, that's kisser. I don't want to know what you've been kissing.

No, pissa is good. But if so, it's usually wiked. But even if it's
a pissa, it's bad.
Just like shaZam!. When it's a adjective it's bad:
"That bike is shaZam!." But when it's a noun, it's good:
"That bike is the shaZam!."Stupid language...

"Pow, right in the pisser" is far worse than that. Unless you piss from your mouth.  Ready for the TF?
i was just being facetious. Do you all really think I'm THAT stupid... dont answer.
Manhattan on my GS, or any bike really, just sounds like an epic good time.

I'm pretty sure that's a noun in both cases :thumb:
Pisser is "different", "exciting".
The whole scene if unreal when I think about it.
All the senses have to be on, revs have to be high. You are inches away
from seas of yellow taxi bumpers. It's organized chaos.
The other day I'm ripping down Varick St.
I was in a sort of "race" with a Ducati it traffic.
He miscalulated and got stuck between two trucks and I "won".
I was feeling good and zipping between the cars and trucks, splitting lanes as needed.
Finally I got stuck between two cars while trying to split the lane. Nowehere to go, light was red.
I hear in back of me "Excuse me", there is a woman on a bicycle behind me trying to get between
the two cars and me. I back up two feet and she goes past me, through the red light and
there she is "winner by a nose".
Next week I'm taking the GS for a Christmas tour at night around NYC.
Riding at night is even a bigger adventure.
Potholes are the killer. Since you are going very fast within a few feet of the guy in front of you
it's hard to react to the potholes. You sort of have to look ahead of him. At night it's hard
to do that.
Whoow!
i would love to ride in manhattan. i love driving there, its a blast.
i work in dc, which is not "organized chaos", its "a bunch of idiots trying to kill you chaos"
11 hours! Haha
Try 13 hours combining everyday for about 4 weeks :icon_twisted:
I have no pity. I did 12 hours a day every day from october 9th to thanksgiving, and now I'll be doing 12 a day 6 days a week until april. No fun.
what the HELL do you guys do for a living and is it worth the money you are making? My guess is white-collar stuff (or selling cars :icon_mrgreen:) since it wouldn't be sustainable otherwise. Hell I work 20-30 hours a week and it's plenty for me. Course, waiting tables isnt exactly something you can do for 11 or 12 hours per day for any period.
Actually the average american workweek has gone from whatever it was before to like over 50 even 60. Cant recall the stats but we work much more now.
I thought EVERYONE worked 12-hour days at least five days a week.... :dunno_white:
I work on a farm  Im only 17 and the summer work makes me nearly 3k
I was doing constant 12 hour shifts earlier this year but am now doing between 10 & 12 depending on the work load.
In my late teens - early 20"s, i worked in a few resturants & 60 - 70 hour weeks was normal.
Most i ever put in was 72 hours.
12 hours work + 8 hours sleep = 20hours. That leaves 4 hours to commute to & from work, shower, cook, eat, clean up & then find the time for what other people call A LIFE.
It sucks but the money is good so i'll stick with it for now.

Don't forget: Kasumi earns in pounds, so that's only about $4.00 in US dollahs. :icon_mrgreen:
actually it's 1.9584 dollars to the pound, so his summer earnings would be $5874.30. Not bad... enough to buy two GS500's.

2 GS500s? shaZam!, you could buy 4.5 of them for what i paid for mine when i bought it ;P
 pwnd!
11 hours ain't that bad, its those 16 hour days that suck, right when your second 1/2 half hour break is over and you realize that you've got to go back to work, but all you really want is to go home.
Jeez people, how did you get suckered into these crazy schedules? I love being a civil servant; 8-5 M-F with 3 weeks vacation and 14 holidays every year. I'll never be rich but at least I have time to enjoy life a little bit.

Where should I forward my resume? :icon_lol:

Well I kind of like my Civil Servant job too. I do the flip flop schedule were I'll work 4 days then get off 3, then I work 3 days and get off 4. I try to average 50 hours a week, and have done a max. of 60(limit), the overtime pay is great, and I'll always work the holidays for the double time. It's a bit more stressful than the regular 9-5, but I look at it this way, if you include my vacation with my off days I'm actually getting more than 1/2 the year off (just working a lot the other half), this way gives me my cake and the time to eat it too. :icon_mrgreen:

I work 12 hrs. for 3 nights a week and with my vac. and sick time I only work about 120 days a year.
Kids go to school more a year than I work.

What the hell do you do for the rest of the time?

What ever I want. I build bikes and parts and do custom work on my cars and play golf but mostly just hang out with my little boy. :thumb:     I love my job.
I work university so right now i'm on two week for break, another week in early march, two more in later april and another 3 in august. Then depending upon my schedule I can be at work anywhere from 3 days a week to 5 days most other times. Although to be truthful sometimes a workday is riding to work, teaching for 1.5 hours and riding home.
ah.
