Title: A joke for math nerds
Post by: manofthefield on December 17, 2006, 09:54:41 AM
So one night x^2 holds a function party. All the functions are drinking and having fun, except for e^x, who is standing in a corner. x^2 goes up to him and asks, "why dont you integrate yourself with the party?" "Because," said e^x, "it wouldnt change anything..."

I got it.

That's a great way to remember the integral of e^ x.

Who uses S as a constant? And shouldn't it be + C?

I think he meant "S" to be the integral sign.  I know there was some group at Michigan tech that had "integral sign"e^x on shirts cause it kinda looked like it said sex

Speaking of math jokes, what's the integral of dcabin/cabin?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I'm not going to give it away, but that was way too funny. That might be the alcohol though.

Would that have anything to do with natural log cabins?

Somebody had to bite in the open.

Wrong!  It's houseboat!  You forgot the C!

True that, but after Calc 3 we didn't care anymore about the C.

Didn't that make differential equations difficult to solve?

Not really, there were several assumptions made, though if the problem were academic in nature -- i.e. not related rates of connected draining tanks, etc, -- we applied it.

Geez that HP48 with software made much of the DiffEQ stuff easier -- well not so agonizing if you screwed something up on the front end.

And god said :-

Cyclic intergral E.dr = F.ds ... balh blah blah ... (starwalt what are the other equations that go here - you know ??)

And then there was light.

Cool.

uh....

Now if you want to know how many M1A1 Tanks, Lima Pallets, Hummers, and Iso containers/Quad Cons can be loaded onto a C13 or a KC10. Or how many troops I can load onto a LHD and a LPD. Or even how much weight a CH-53 or CH-46 can airlift out of an LZ...I'm your man.

shaZam!, even How much wood a wood chuck could chuck  :icon_mrgreen: (if a wood chuck could chuck wood)

Keep the calc away from me please

Wowee how did you get them math symbols ...
Anyway these were supposed to be the equations that all occour in the few 1000'ths of a second between switching on a light bulb and that bulb comming on.
Yours looks a bit off. I also do know that first line ...
Cool.

Those are maxwell's equations.  They're images.
