I had to go in my carbs today and while I was at it, I thought I'd check out how my hot glue was holding up. Two weeks ago, I plugged one of the carb slide holes using a hot glue gun.
What I found was not good. The hot glue was very soft and it was starting to get pulled out of the hole in little tiny sticky chunks and being swallowed by my engine. I promptly removed every trace of that shiznit from the carb slides. I should have gone with the nylon bolts and tapping the hole.
Regarding the nylon bolt, does the head hit the bottom of the carb?
Has anyone used epoxy to plug the hole (like JB weld)?
The good news is I couldn't really tell much difference riding with both holes open as opposed to only one. So I may just leave them alone.
Whew!!! plugging the holes was on my agenda tomorrow :o
Glad you posted this bro.. I think i may just leave mine as well.. i think once i jet itll ride much better. I am afraid that the 125.7 mains are way too small though... even though all i have is a V&H pipe.
