im looking for a website that sells aftermarket parts for a 2004 gs500f i know they are hard to find but i know they are out there i was looking and getting a new exhaust. does the V&H pipes fit my bike?
check this site out for some info & ides about what works:
http://cgi.stanford.edu/~sanjayd/gs500/
it's a great compilation of some of the info here on this site. The search function will also be a big help when deciding on and installing mods.
to my knowledge the V&H and yoshimura full systems wont fit the 04s because of the oil cooler. I know the yoshi was discontinued a while back & possibly the V&H as well. I've heard that jardine and Lazer have come out with full systems for the 04+ bikes, but i dont know too much about them other than that they can be pricey.
A lot of members have put aftermarket end cans on their bikes that sound absolutly great. There are far more and cheaper options if you end up going that route.
I cant really think of any website off the top of my head that really compiles a lot of GS-specific mods in one place.
that's where the info on this forum comes in. :thumb: basically you'll find out here what works on the GS, and then you can go to any online m/c retailer & order the parts. I removed the farings on my 2004 to make room for woodcraft 37mm clipons and a new headlight. Basically things like cans, sprockets, clipons/bars, brake lines, etc, etc, etc can be found anywhere. if you're looking for something specific like a GS aftermarket fork brace, run a search here and I know of one site from the UK that will come up, plus info on making your own to save yourself $50.
the search feature on this site will become your best friend.
good luck & WELCOME! ;)
BTW
pablo has a great info site as well:
