Are you referring to gadgets or paint jobs?
Gadgets are somewhat limited, but paint jobs....check out Airbrush's bike.
Some people have a good time taking a good photo and use Photoshop for a "what if" experiment before they make a mistake.
Me? I'm a plain vanilla, stock bike kind of guy. (Except where stock is just plain dumb.)

There seems to be a mildly paradoxical quality about your statement. You want to be creative and make the bike your own, but you want other people to give you the ideas on what to do. I say just think up some crazy thoughts you having a feeling might work, then give it a shot! If you decide on something else scrap it and start over.
What have you done so far?
Go to any custom cycle site on the net, look around, get some ideas and then the magic happens. You have to make the mods on your own bike. If its not your daily trans go nuts, If it is... be careful not to make mods that will hurt reliability, safety or power... .02

It would be alot easier to give you suggestions if we knew what you have to start with
I have nothing right now, but everythings off the bike, and if im going to mod nows the time.
The thing is only you know what you like and I'm sure you have an idea of what you would like, and what you don't like. Go from there and if anyone gives you crap about it tell them to bugger off and it's your bike not theirs and they should stfu.
Things you can do like most of the stuff it's all common really.
Chrome / powder coating everything thats metal. Frame, wheels, bars rear sets.
Custom paint job
Wider rear wheel swap
steel brake lines
etc, etc.
Really the only limit you have on modding your bike is your imagination and your wallet.

I am almost complete with rebuilding a 97, mosty from pieces. Even the motor was in boxes. Besides the typical cleaning and repainting most everything, here are some of the mods:
04/05 Tank and tail bodywork
Dominator Dual headlight
Katana frontend
Clip-ons
s/s brakelines
SV650 gauges
custom adjustable rearsets
Bandit 400 4" wheel
Metzeler M1 tires (110/150)
15/41 sprockets
GSXR1K passenger footpegs
GSXR600 rear shock (2002)
GSXR rear caliper
EBC HH pads
SV throttle tube
K&N lunchbox
BobB's ignition advancer
Steering damper
Custom slip-on exhaust
Swingarm spools (mounts welded on)
There are more mods but these are some of the highlights. Actually the Katana rear wheel swap is easier than the Bandit 400. I wanted the B4 wheel since the spoke patterns match. The B4 hub is narrower but may be fine with the B4 cush instead of a GS cush drive. I have not messed with fitting the Bandit 600 wheel I have yet.
I have some ideas now, ill keep you guys posted.
