Title: Wrenching is wrenching...doesn't matter the bike
Post by: jake42 on January 01, 2007, 08:33:21 PM
So I spent the day today cleaning,  tuning, and replacing things like broken fuel lines on my bro-in-law's Vespa.  This was probably the most fun I've had all Christmas vacation.  Then we drained all the fluids so he could ship it with movers to his new pad in Wilmington NC.  I"m jealous since it's about 75 and sunny there now and he lives about 5 minutes scooter ride from the beach.

Happy New Year's.

Hey Jake I know exactly what you mean .I've spent a few Days putting a Yamahaha YT125 3 wheeler back together that I rebuilt for my cousin.Best part was Firing it up and Smelling that sweet 2 Stroke Smell. :thumb:

Hows the T500 Coming Along.I think I found a Clutch rod if you still need it. ;)

Jug,
Haven't had a chance to play with the Titan at all. I've got he GS, and my old 67 YCS 180 Yamaha to deal with first. Oh and my other bro-in-law's ttr225 with carb issues.

Oh and you're right, nothing beats the 2-stroke smell. Unless of course you fire it up in the garage after you get it running so your brother in SC can hear it run and fills the house with 2 stroke smell...

That's pretty funny, I've done the same.  My 5 year old really likes the way I smell when I come up from the garage after playing with the bikes.  Tonite he walked right up and took a big whiff and said "Dad you smell good!"

Hopefully he'll like to ride them and not just sniff the exhaust.

Yeah that could be a Problem. :o Just don't buy any of that Fuel Additive that Makes the Exhaust Smell like Chocolate and Stuff.

I still want to get elbow deep in a rotary bike.

Or !gasp! Maybe even a turbo rotary bike! (I don't think there is one made, but you know what, we can fix that.)

I've wanted a Suzuki RE5 So Bad.Just about bought 3 a Few Years Ago.1 was original ith less than 5000 Miles,1 Had a Monsterous Fairing on it and had less than 6000Miles and one was a Completee Parts bike. All three came with all of the Dealer Manuals and a NOS Set of Exhaust Pipes.Could have brought them all 3 Home for $1500.At that time I would have had to go in Debt Deeper but about a year Later the Price Soared to Around $5000-$6000 for a Great Original one.
