What do you guys all wear for street riding? I have never worn a motorcycle specific boot on the street but I think that I may go this way for my new pair as it is time to get some. Thanks!
sidi champion tepors are great. my first boot and they lasted 4+ years...look like tough military boots more than racer boots and I wore them all day many times, even when not riding. the 'tepor' part of it is the water resistant part...I dunno about "waterproof", as they say...
Now I wear a more racer boot-sidi vertigos.
the champions are about 180. newenough has them.
I also kinda wonder what shoes/boots I should get. I ride to work, and have to be professional looking, I guess I could always put my work shoes in my backpack and switch when I get to work, but I would much rather have a pair of boots that look plain enough to wear full time. Is there such a thing?

For the GS, I was using Sidi Strada Tepor Evos. As pablo said, the Tepor is the waterproof part. I rode through many a downpour with them and my feet stayed perfectly dry.

Many of the boots have conservative enough styling to pass for everyday wear. I also have to wear business attire and need something that will be mild enough for that. Here is an example for you.

I ride with Joe Rocket GPX. They feel good, and are pretty cheap.
I like the look of the Sidi Strada Tepor Evo's. I might try those out next. I need some water portection.
I wear paratrooper style jump boots with zippers up the sides. The best and strongest pair of boots I've ever had. If you keep them shined they don't look bad with dress clothes either. I usually just keep an extra pair of dress shoes at work though.
The nicest thing about them is that the soles are flat and they don't hang like some other styles of boot with tread.

Of you could keep a pair of brown dress shoes and a pair of black dress shoes at your office and just change back to riding boots before you go home.
I got the new Set Up cheapie boots. They are pretty good. They look like race boots but will likely not offer as much protection against crushing or twisting of the ankle as real hard core race boots, but they are cheap and will provide you with all the abrassion protection you'll need and they look good.
One nice thing about race boots is the very hard sole and small toebox. I normally wear Sidi Vertebras while riding, but sometimes I wear my work boots for a short ride to the store. The difference in shifter and peg feel is amazing. I can't feel what the bike is doing in my work boots.
I can't see a race boot being a comfortable all-day work shoe. I've worn my Vertebras all day and they're not painful, just not the kind of thing you wear at a desk. Proper motorcycle boots should be snug and stiff. The more ankle support the better. None of which is conducive to comfort at a desk.
Personally, if image at work is that important I would keep a pair of dress shoes under my desk and wear whatever motorcycle boot I liked.
