I saw one of those about two weeks ago when a friend was showing me his new phone.  They are incredible!

Yep.. I have one in my phone.. When I first put it in before loading music it said that I had 2600 Pictures remaining @ the 1024x768 setting  :thumb: Sweet :)

I put on over 200 songs and a few TV shows and still have a ton of room  :2guns:

i have an old drive from an ibm mainframe that weights 80lbs, is about 2.5 feet wide by 1 foot tall, and is 360megs.

and heres the kicker - it doesnt have its own motor, it was belt driven.
i was told that they actually used internal combustion engines to drive them. and they had to be operated in a sterile room.

I was suprised to see that you can now get internal hard drives with a whole terabyte of storage.  I don't even want to know how long it takes to format or defrag a partition that big.

but does it make you happy?  :o j/k. Thats cool.

my first computer (not that the parents ever actually gave it to me) was a $1400 Hewlett Packard 486sx with I think 4mb RAM and a 40 meg hard drive. I knew it was a piece of crap even then but wow... 40 megs? Now I have a piddling 40 gigs and I paid even less for this one. About $1200 all told for an AMD Athlon 64 3200 (?) with the 2-stick 512k RAM thingamajiggers.

Pretty soon current performance will be super portable, the main challenge seemingly is just the interface. Like, theres only so much you could or would want to do on a Blackberry.

When the interface for handheld stuff is improved, things will probably be a lot of fun. Like games that could be overlaid onto real life via portable devices, or social networking/realtime type stuff... things that will make Myspace and Stickam look like caveman stuff.

I can't wait.

...but the auction of the pictures of my weenie sold for a higher price.

I think the CRUEL AND UNUSUAL ARTIFACTS MUSEUM bought my picture...
