Title: Mirrors
Post by: Mr.7 on January 06, 2007, 06:03:55 PM
What do you guys think of these two mirrors?

I like them both but I'm not sure if they are any good, or if they will even fit the GS

I'm going to get them in black though because I'm not to big on the fake carbon fiber look.

They look like cheap plastic junk that will vibrate like crazy. I had one on my bike when I first went naked and it was utter crap.

I don't know anything about these particular mirrors.  But...

Alphafire's experience was the opposite of mine.  My bike fell over in a parking lot and broke an original Suzuki mirror.  I ordered stock-looking replacements (available in a pair only) from J.C. Witless and when they arrived I noticed that they were NOTABLY lighter in weight (the stock ones actually have a weight glued in the head).

To my surprise, the lightweight mirrors vibrated much less (for a while I had one of each on my bike).  Weird.

The ones I had were Emgos, which look exactly like those.

The ones trumpetguy mentioned said they were "stock-looking". The ones you pointed out, Mr.7, look only like stock in the sense that the mirror is rectangular shaped. The Emgo ones I had on there also gave me a wonderful view of my forearm, and nothing else.

I know that these mirrors look cheep, as you pointed out Alpha, but I think that is mainly because of the cheep carbonfiber sticker that they put on it. If I did get these they would come in the optional solid black, which I could not find a picture of.

These are not Emgos either, even though they look like something they would sell, they are from a company called bikemaster

I don't know if this company is just as crappy as Emgo or not, but I'm willing to give them a shot.
Plus they are much cheeper than the napolean bar-ends that I thought about getting, but then decided not to when I saw how much of a pain they were to install.

In my experience, BikeMaster mirrors are just as cheap as Emgo. Maybe the same manufacturer with a different name slapped on.
