how much was that? I really want dominators, but they're so freaking expensive... that looks a lot better than stock, so if it's not too expensive, maybe i'll go for it instead. do you have a link for where you bought it?

How's the perceived quality vs. stock?  Any modifications to make it fit?  Will the rat's nest of wires in the stock housing fit in this housing?

Ahhh... that is the big question.

I put on the dual buells and just neatly taped all the wires w/ electrical tape (now there is no housing) but .. the wires are still hidden pretty well.

So.. If they wont all fit in the new housing, you can tape some of them up on the outside  :thumb: So I think :)

Also...

Awesome look. Cant wait to see it on the GS  :thumb:

I have pulled it apart and inspected everything. to tell you the truth when I swapped my turning signals to low profile clear ones I cleaned that rats nest up. so my wiring is pretty low profile, there is plenty of room in the head light houseing. I bought the stuff from Kens Cycle Center. I asked him for a housing and headlight for the gs500. they happen to race a gs500 so they knew what to order.  I wanted to go with the black dot at first but it was like 150$ for the headlight itself so I decided to go with the ICE headlight .

maybe these part numbers will help.

7" Headlight housing Universal BLACK = 8643470

7" ICE headlight W/H4 Bulb = 15719

the headlight housing was made by a company called EMGO also you can see who made the  headlight.

I am very impressed with the qaulity of the parts, they are a 100% match and fit right up to the bike. I will have to take pics of it later on the bike.  maybe this weekend.
I also bought a silvania super white / Blue h4 bulb. and it looks so much better than stock.

now I just need to figure out a good tail light set up.

Its not LED but they do have the clear LED ones on ebay for like $75.

I paid $9. for mine..on eBay..  I think its from a 97 R1 ?? not sure Ill have to check..

Anyway, the swap was as simple as taking off the old tail light and this one bolts right to the same holes  :thumb: No custom work at all  Just had to get some shorter bolts :icon_mrgreen:

My experience may not be too common but I went through two Sylvania super white H4 bulbs on my electrically stock '92 GS, using the stock housing and such.  These things died in maybe 5 uses apeice, the filaments would be break in a nice bright flash.  The first one was dead in like two uses, returned it for another, the second one had the low side blow in maybe 5 rides, and then the high-side blew after another few rides.  I had ordered a "normal" motorcycle bulb from the stealership and was waiting for it to come in, but that didn't help make up for that ride home on residential streets with no lights.

My two cents of course, I think others here have used the Sylvania super whites and love them, and I did like the light they put off while they worked.

$69 @ the local harley buell dealer.. They had to order them and it only took 3 days  :thumb: They even came w/ bulbs (dealer said they didnt)  :cookoo: I made the new brackets very easily and used the stock mounting points  :thumb: If you buy some I can send you detailed pics of my brackets

ok so I lied. that rats nest behind the headlight bulb that sits in the stock headlamp housing , yea that is a royal pain to deal with when putting back into the replacment. you cannot fit all the wires in the replacement you have to pull them out and just run the headlamp wire in there. I wrapped all the wires up nice and neat and them wrapped them behind the headlight housing and tucked it away. looks good cant even tell they are there. looks very stock.  :)   but was a royal pain!  I will have pics up soon this week
