Post by: mach1 on January 12, 2007, 06:49:46 AM
has anyone ever replaced their rear tail light with the leds that intergrate the turn signals into the the rear lights if so what do yah think of them?

with a 15t front sprocket what is th etop speed of an o4 gs with everything else stock but a stage 1 jet kit?

I think they make you less visible  :thumb: They look cool, but seeing other riders on here that have been rear ended recently I think the more lights on the rear the better  :thumb:

Now.. if it would work.. integrated and side signals would look cool :thumb: Esp. if they would alternate the blinking

+1  You can't see them well at all, and it's not worth the risk.

no ones answering his question.
I have seen this done on this site some whare... the wiki has some minimul info http://cgi.stanford.edu/~sanjayd/gs500/Upgrades/TailLight
Some one on here has done this but now i can't find it. it might be barried in one of the LED discussions from NOV.

But i agree with Jarrett and ScottpA its a lot less visible and for that reason I wouldn't do it to my bike.

Somewhere between 115 and 125 indicated.  So you're looking at about 105 to 115 actual speed.

You can get one from your local dealer.  You can also try the for sale section of this forum.  If you place a WTB add, someone on here might have an extra laying around.

There are some alternatives for your tail lights.  Some folks have installed Buell indicators.  They look decent.  Shortened stalks are also an option.  LED's aren't a bad idea, just keep your indicators seperate.  Folks don't pay attention to integrated indicator lights.

Personally, I like to pass on the small upgrades, and spend that money on the big ones.  If you wanna make some big changes to your bike, throw some new springs up front and put some SM2 bars on.  They will rock your world.

I know it's what you asked, but I just but on a JT 12 tooth front. :thumb: IT is great!!! :thumb:

But I'm 240 pounds and the bike needed more. Now it's perfect.

I had short Led's on my rear and swap them to the front then bought short rears with regular bulbs that looked the same.

Geez you've got a 12 on there? Holy cow!!! That's insane! What's your to speed 85?
I was under the impression sprockets that small wear chains fast.

Yes, they sell rear LED tail light kits for GS on Ebay for $80 or so - but, not worth the price in many respects.

I read hear in the furom that some had a 12 and the top speed increased. but I'm not really in to top spead I like the fast acceleration. although I didn't know about the chain life.  :dunno_white:

I learn something new every time I get on this site. :thumb:
