Post by: Susuki_Jah on January 12, 2007, 07:33:24 PM
www.jjvphotography.com/moto/gs500night

this is without the new headlight , actually without any of my new parts. took them tonight

the qaulity of thee photos is much better when I dont save them for the web in photoshop but to save space and  for 56k users to upload easy I chose to save at the low qaulity Jpeg.

is the taillight oem? it looks super bright in the picture, like hot plasma or something.

The exposure level was longer for the rest of the shot to get light, none of these were taken with a flash or any lighting actually aside from the lights on the truck and motorcycle it was pretty dark out. most of these were 30 second exposures using ISO 400 and a fstop of 5.6  ofcourse it varried from time to time. Im just saving up for the fish eye lense now :).  I want to take the gs downtown against the city scape and the river and do some night shots

The gauges look nice. What kind of Leds did you put in there? 194 Single Led Inverted cone, just regular single leds, or are they muiltiple led ones? Also are they they white with the bluish tint or are they blue? They look awsome :). Hmmm I got some 194 single inverted cone leds lying around here some where. :) I might just have to pop them in there.

I go thru http://www.superbrightleds.com (http://www.superbrightleds.com) They have good prices and any kind of led you need. I went thru them when I did all the parking lights, and blinkers on my car with leds. Thats why I have some extra 194 white leds laying around. :)

well these photo's actually disapoint me a lot I am still converting to the digital world. Im still a huge fan of film so its finding that happy medium between lighting with the digital  and so on and so on.

I went to college for a photography degree. although thats not what I do as my fulltime job unfortunatly.  I still have a lot of spending to do to get my Nikons up to where I want them I had tones of lenses for my Pentax cameras then they were stolen.. 3k of photography equipment stolen!  Hintz another reason to carry my concealed weapon permit.
but I actually have a darkroom I built in my house and the ability to pump out 20x24 prints on sivler gelitin crystal paper..   Im still working on digitaly uploading my porfolio so I can actually love my job instead of doing steel work which I hate

thanks for the compliment.. even though you think im a redneck ;) haha

So what kind of photography do you see yourself doing?

red neck? mm... well rednecks arent usually schooled in photography, but you do want to shoot illegal aliens and possibly liberals, like the war, want to nuke them, dont like taxes or social programs, carry a gun wherever you go, own a ford truck, has a picture riding a missile and lives in Virginia. So um yea.  just f'in with ya...

dont shoot me

sweet lights!!  I've got a burnt-out high-beam indicator, and have been considering changing it.  How much of a hassle is taking apart the 'dash' on the GS?  I'm not scared, just lazy I guess, but yeah, where did you get those LEDs ?

I do cityscapes and landscapes but I really love cityscapes, I do mainly a lot of studio portrature and documentary (hisotrical) photography. I like to mesh words with my photography and relate to a deeper meaning in the heart and soul of all of us... Im big on the Human soul.. I also do infrared photography , color and BW.

check this out    http://jjvphotography.com/writing/humansoul.htm  this is the intro to my last photography showing at the second floor of the downtown library.

wish I had my ellis island stuff to show everyone might have been interested in that.

I just really love photography and I have thousands of dollars in equipment but I have not done it full time in a while.

here are a few others

this was some shots pre-wedding for a couple

this guy had braces when I took the shots and they didnt want them to show  so I did some photoshoping. these are all low waulity saved images.

nice black & whites...

poor bastard, he's all trying to hide his braces. :P I had em too.

I pay 2-300 every couple years for acting headshots. About 90% of them look dorky/sleepy/inbred, but then theres always that 1 or 2 shots that look pretty ok with a good photographer. i dont think its even the technical aspect so much as how relaxed things went. But Ive met a few photographers who work for themselves and get by doing that kind of stuff... my last one used to work at his parents shipping warehouse, he bought 6k worth of equipment and kind of leapt off the cliff, and started getting business. So... it can happen. Word.

its super easy changing the bulbs you dont even need to take apart the dash part there. the bulbs really sit right under it just unscrew the little bulb housings.  a total of 5 mins to change all the bulbs inlcuding the guage ones.

yea there is a lot of money in wedding photography but I hate doing weddings. just imagine the stress on the bride and groom and multiply that by 1000 and you get the stress that is bearing down on the photographer, so I try to change the subject when people ask me to do weddings hahha.  I think when I get more established that I will hire another photographer to do weddings for the company. I just need to get the business license and a bigger space or a house. Im looking to buy a  house soon with land so I will have the resources to follow my dreams.

but it is very hard making it as a photographer. Commercial is where the money is at and hopefully I will be working for a mag. here soon.

those are napolean bar ends. and Ive grown to love them.  they actually withstood a major laydown this past summer very sturdy equipment they cost 60$.  I bought them from a local shop but you can search for them anywhere on the web
