Title: gs500f tank on gs500e
Post by: whitetiger on January 13, 2007, 11:16:11 PM
Just out of pure curiosity... are the tanks interchangeable on the E and F models.  I would imagine that the seat may not line up correctly but I'm not sure.  Anybody know?

The tank will fit, but the seat might not line up properly.

They aren't.

'01+ models all use the same tail plastics and seats. '89-'00 models use the same tail plastics and seats.

I didn't see this in that link, but what about the subframe?  If he takes the '01+ tail plastics and put them on, would everything still fit in terms of plastics?

Scuba Steve has been around WAY WAY WAY longer than some Adam Sandler movie.

The 6 mounting points for the 01+ plastics are different and the grab handle mount is higher.
You can make it work as I have a '97 with '04 tail plastics where I cut the mounts from a '05 frame.
The brake light bracket needs to be moddified also.
