are there any good places to get a lube tool online :dunno_white:
I used this..... http://www.protectall.com/cable_life.htm
The injector worked pretty well. I had to plug the top with a papertowl to keep it from spraying backwards into my eyes. :o But lube eventually came out of the other side of the cable so I guess it worked.
OH, my local shop was selling it for less than the website.

Put the straw up to the cable, pinch your fingers around the straw and cable, push the can towards the straw, squirt.
Helps if you have big fingers. :)
Wear safety glasses. ;)
Dennis Kirk has Motion Pro cable lubers. I expected mine to work better than it did. It seems more lube came out the back and sides than went through the cable. Maybe it's just poor technique.
You might find it easier to undo the cable at the lever and support it verticaly, get some plastacine and make a sealed funnel shape around the end of the cable, spray some WD40 into the aerosol-can cap, then pour the liquid WD40 into the funnel and let Issac Newton do the work while you go have a coffee/beer/joint.
I disconnect the cables from one end, take an oil can, and pump motor oil into them until it comes out the other end...winter time all cables come off are put in a lenth of tubing plugged at one end filled with motor oil and the other end is sealed...they soak to perfection...
